Man Shoate is another pick down. After only two years. If LeSeur, Mauck and Luke don't stick (and assuming we get something for Pierce), then we'll be batting 7/20 in the in the '03 and '04 draft.

Forgot to add that Jeff Shoate is on the list. That is a bit of a surprise to me. I thought he might be put on IR, but he was cut instead.

I too expected Shoate to be on the IR. Since he only played in 7 games last year, isnt he still eligible for the PS? Isnt the standard 8 games or something?

Well maybe they thought the knee wasn't going to get better even if he sat out a year.

Was Shoate injuried? I thought he was still having problems with his knee. Must of been a Gibbs pick.

Shoate actually was really good at run support last year in the preseason.

Well cutting him is the only way to get him to the practice squad, if that is what they are thinking. I'm sure the coaches want a lot of bodies on the d-line and o-line to use in this week's game vs Zona, so cutting Shoate early vs next week might have been their only option. |
