Default What Crush noticed between beers...

Plummer = A

Didn't make a lot of mistakes, however, our pass blocking wasn't lookin the best.

He, did however make a lot of plays within the pocket.

Mike Anderson =A

If he plays that well, there's a reason Bell and Dayne are on the bench. He was really, really good

Warren = He played really well, there were a couple of plays were he was moving laterally instead of trying to push the pocket, but I think it was the scheme.

Pryce = awesome...great pressure and was solid throughout.

Lelie = AWESOME! he went through the middle and and he looked like a #1.

Adams = Looked great!!! He played ST awesome....

Rice = Didn't really see alot of him although I know he was out there...

Putzier = He was awesome with that Van Pelt throw.

Van Pelt = looked great against the 2nd team Colts defense, which doesn't mean a whole hellav lot.

Disclaimer: all above things were noticed while in the midst of getting drunk!!

Lets hear what you thought!

Todd Devoe helped himself with the forced fumble on kickoff coverage. All this guy has done all preseason is make plays.

I thought Walls slipping in coverage and keeping a heads up and staying with the play to force a fumble and touchback was something we lacked last year. They didnt seem to just give up on plays when they got beat. Walls hurt his knee though, any word on that?

I saw rookie corners make rookie mistakes but I saw Darrent Williams play like a veteran at times tonight too.

I saw Jake plummer make a beautiful long deep throw to Ashley from the pocket.

I saw Ian Gold make a lot of tackles, from behind.

I saw Lynch get burned on over the top help and I saw a lot of missed tackles.

I saw a run defense that better have just been due to a vanilla defense. This is the AFC west, and we have to face top 5 backs four times just in our division.

I saw that Manning is still capable of kicking ass and taking names on the field, if given time. I saw that if you rattle Manning, he aint worth a f***.

I saw our interior line fail at their job more than once.

I saw number 48 blow a block that got BVP drilled.

I saw Mike Anderson run a 93 yard touchdown outrunning the entire Colts secondary. That was cool.

Overall, I saw a team that made improvements over the past two weeks as a starting unit, but still needs work.

Im going to go ahead and call it...

I noticed Manning was supremely ticked off they couldn't score on the first drive of the second half when Darrent sacked him. He said every word in the book after that sack. Indy was taking the game pretty seriuosly, and that's good. They're looking SB this year, certainly AFC Champs with possibly NE having a down year losing both Coordinators, and they wanted to have the lead with their first-teamers.

It was an entertaining game. A good test for both teams. Well-played, pretty much penalty free. Well-officiated for the most part. I'm fairly pleased.

Plummer is consistently throwing off his back foot...he displays poor mechanics.....the long pass he completed down the field were all throw he stepped into.

Agreed. I'd like to see Jake handle the roll to the right better. He has to sidestep that one D player the OL/TE's let go so he can step into the throw. The play is designed for him to do that, but he has some kind of mental lock where he doesn't do it. And it's not a picky thing. If he doesn't start doing that, it takes maybe 10% of the offense out.

I disagree with those two points, speaking of the first-teamers only. The rest of it I agree with.

I noticed Coyer was trying to use Warren in a "flex" role. They were actually experimenting on D against the Colts, trying a few things out. Talk about confidence, jeez . . . . .

Great post. I can't add anything to this other than I'm very concerned about the run defense. I feel the same way. I'll rep you after I spread it around.

Just more for Peyton to study. Plus, they only ran Five variations of plays versus the first team offense. They were trying to keep everything simple for Darrent and he still missed two calls. Overall, not bad.

I agree he has horrible mechanics when he throws, Doesn't the coaches work with him on that. I do notice that when he throws off the back foot I cringe and then when it's complete I let out a big sigh. Fact is he completes a lot of passes like that.
