Well it's official. Keller signed his papers this afternoon. He'll be in Lincoln Friday.
He's got all fall and spring to learn the offense.
I think Nebraska is going to suprise a lot of people this year. Even with Bowman out the Blackshirts are going to be awesome.
If we manage to beat USC look out.

The chances of it snowing in LA are greater.

I know how improved the husker faithful believe their team to be, but beating U$C in LA is about as likely as CU beating UGA in Athens. However, should the huskers some how beat U$C then we will are hear the proclamations about being back more so than we do today.

Not saying it will happen, but it could. I see the game being within 10 pts either way.

Wow, I think you have drastically overrated your team and underestimated the team that has played for the last three National Championships. I appreciate your optimism, but not sure what you are basing it off.

And of course you all will be singing from the mountain tops, or whatever tops, they have in NE about beating U$C. It'd be a very impressive win, unfortunately I think it only going to happen in husker fans dreams. Don't forget you have a coach that is, what, 13-12 against D1 opponents. I am really not trying to be harsh, but the realistic chances of NU winning let alone staying within 10 of U$C are slim.

You do know how much USC lost this past season right? The current USC team in no way compares to the team that went to 3 NC games.

Also, the record of our coach doesn't really say much. He has been playing with option offense players in a west coast offense and a bunch of freshmen. This will be the first year that he gets to have an experienced team that is built to play his type of football. It isn't like he was just rebuilding with talent that could play in his system. He had to rebuild completely and use guys that where not at all right for what he was doing.

That being said I will still have to wait and see how improved the team is but I don't think USC is nearly as good as you are making them out to be.

I wouldn't be so sure. Callahan has been building a pretty talented (at least on paper) team and last year we only lost to Texas Tech by 3 points and to Oklahoma by 7 points. I'm not too worried, given the fact that last year was basically Callahan's first year with his recruits. His first year in Nebraska was basically a wash due to trying to pound square peg players into a round hole system.

That's the scary part about this Nebraska team, they are so iffy, for example, we lose to Kansas by 25, should have beaten KSU, had TT within one fat bastards idiocy away from winning, but pound CU and beat Michigan. Who knows what team is going to show up!

Um...you do realize that people said the exact same thing when Carson Palmer and crew left don't you? USC is as loaded as any team in the country. They have two weeks to prepare for NU. It's stupid to think that U$C is not going to be a great team this year. $C has had the #1 recruiting class in the country 3 out of the last 4 years....which accounts for the bulk of their current roster. 26 5 star recruits in that time frame. Booty was the #1 recruit in the country when he came to $C and is throwing to Smith and Jarret.

Yikes...I can't believe I am defending the rubbers. I feel so dirty.

On September 17th, I don't want you guys getting upset when I say "I told you so."

The USC game would have been better with Bowman in there. Jones is a great player but he doesn't have the speed that Bowman does, plus those two back there would have been awesome.

Let me reiterate that I do think NU will be a better team overall this year. No near hiccups vs. the likes of Maine and Pitt and down right bad loss to KU. I just think that the Huskers are going to have their hands full with $C dispite the loss of Bush, Lienert, White, Justice, etc. It seems $C faces those kind of losses every year (Certainly not on that scale every year) and just reloads. I think U$C has to play a C- type game and NU has to play an A or greater game to have any shot at beating the rubbers. All of that is quite possible and who know's perhaps Arkansas will expose the rubbers in the Sept. 2 game in Fayetteville.

I just think that the husker folks that think they are going to waltz in to LA and lay the wood to $C need to take off the red colored glasses and be objective. I don't feel like the majority of the husker fans here have done that but reading some of the posts on huskerpedia and similar boards you'd think that the USC they are playing is the one in South Carolina.

I think the scores of the U$C/NU game and UGA/CU game will be quite similar and not the outcome that either B12 team wants.
