Well it's official. Keller signed his papers this afternoon. He'll be in Lincoln Friday.
He's got all fall and spring to learn the offense. I think Nebraska is going to suprise a lot of people this year. Even with Bowman out the Blackshirts are going to be awesome. If we manage to beat USC look out. |

I know how improved the husker faithful believe their team to be, but beating U$C in LA is about as likely as CU beating UGA in Athens. However, should the huskers some how beat U$C then we will are hear the proclamations about being back more so than we do today. |

And of course you all will be singing from the mountain tops, or whatever tops, they have in NE about beating U$C. It'd be a very impressive win, unfortunately I think it only going to happen in husker fans dreams. Don't forget you have a coach that is, what, 13-12 against D1 opponents. I am really not trying to be harsh, but the realistic chances of NU winning let alone staying within 10 of U$C are slim. Last edited by Master___Pain; 08-24-2006 at 10:20 AM.. |

Also, the record of our coach doesn't really say much. He has been playing with option offense players in a west coast offense and a bunch of freshmen. This will be the first year that he gets to have an experienced team that is built to play his type of football. It isn't like he was just rebuilding with talent that could play in his system. He had to rebuild completely and use guys that where not at all right for what he was doing. That being said I will still have to wait and see how improved the team is but I don't think USC is nearly as good as you are making them out to be. |

The USC game would have been better with Bowman in there. Jones is a great player but he doesn't have the speed that Bowman does, plus those two back there would have been awesome.

Let me reiterate that I do think NU will be a better team overall this year. No near hiccups vs. the likes of Maine and Pitt and down right bad loss to KU. I just think that the Huskers are going to have their hands full with $C dispite the loss of Bush, Lienert, White, Justice, etc. It seems $C faces those kind of losses every year (Certainly not on that scale every year) and just reloads. I think U$C has to play a C- type game and NU has to play an A or greater game to have any shot at beating the rubbers. All of that is quite possible and who know's perhaps Arkansas will expose the rubbers in the Sept. 2 game in Fayetteville.
I just think that the husker folks that think they are going to waltz in to LA and lay the wood to $C need to take off the red colored glasses and be objective. I don't feel like the majority of the husker fans here have done that but reading some of the posts on huskerpedia and similar boards you'd think that the USC they are playing is the one in South Carolina. I think the scores of the U$C/NU game and UGA/CU game will be quite similar and not the outcome that either B12 team wants. |
