Exactly....And now unless they bring in a coach of extremely high caliber it will likely get very ugly for the Mildcats. I suppose they could get another coach with no academic or ethical standards for the players they are willing to bring in again and possibly remain respectable on the field with the hired mercenaries but I highly doubt it. I'm willing to bet IU is in a better place 3 years from now than KState. |

Duly noted...but it's STILL ridiculous to compare it to Indiana football... |

I wouldn't go that far...During the Bill Mallory days in the 80's and early 90's when he wrapped up they went to I believe 6 bowl games in 8 years and twice went into the final two games of the season with a chance to go to the Rose Bowl. No juggernaut by any means but very respectable especially considering the Big Ten was a very tough conference. KState ran off a few more bowls but managed to get their backsides kicked in most of them and sold out any ethical and academic standards they might have had to build with mercenaries that were anything but a student athlete. Other than Snyder's run with hired hit men KState brings nothing to the table. Stunk forever leading up to that. Not competitive in any other major sports. Only thing KState ever did of note outside of Snyder's run was knock off the #1 seed Purdue team with Mitchy Richmond. I will always appreciate that but lets be real. If Snyder had any standards at all KState would be the most pathetic mens athletic program of any BCS school with the exception of maybe Rutgers. The little rotten apple is most likely headed back to that status. |

In 10 years, Kansas State has accomplished more than Indiana has in its entire existance.

The only thing more amusing is "the rock"! Too bad they had to steal that from Southern Miss...Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage too for that matter! ![]() |

Because of history? Guess Yale can still claim to be a big powerhouse then. |

Ah..this year? Yeah, i'd say we are fairly comprable to Indiana. They'd probably beat us @Bloomington. Not sure about @Manhattan.

One Big 12 title to one Big 10 title....And IU probably has more bowl wins if I had to guess. Neither program has squat to brag about when it comes to football. And if Snyder had any ethical stanards KSU wouldn't even be close to IU which is hard to believe a BCS school could be that bad. But outside of our crappy football traditions at least IU has one of the top traditional basketball programs in the country and the top soccer program. KState have anything at all? A good girls field hockey? Something? Anything? |

Ethical standards = blah blah blah. You are just repeating bulletin board material. K-State had a good basketball tradition, not up there with IU's though. We were recently ranked the #22 bball program of all time by Streets & Smith. Our Volleyball team has been in 9 straight NCAA tourneys. Our Womens Basketball team has done very well in recent history. But what does any of that have to do with football? |

So 6 bowl wins to 3....Pretty pitiful either way. As for ethical standards, I remember SI doing a cover story on the Snyder thugs he drug into that program. Ethical standards may not mean squat to you but I sure as hell don't want my sheep skin that I put in a lot of time and money to obtain being cheapened by a slimy coach bringing in thugs. Athletic success is fun to have but it sure as hell isn't worth damaging the academic credibility of all the legitimate students and alumni that went to the university. I would prefer them to shut down the football program than to parade a bunch of Dexter Manley's through. |
