Default For Those At Home with Direct TV High Def.....

Hello Mane-iacs,

The Broncos 49ers replay will be available in High Definition starting in two hours; at 1PM ET. Channel 98 on your HD receiver.

I assume it will be 11AM Mountain time.

I haven't seen the game yet but it sounds like I'll enjoy the start of the game.

Anyway High Def rules. Hope some can enjoy!

So how does that work with Direct TV? Do you have to have the NFL package to see the game to today. What package(s) and how much would this cost approx (monthly) to have these packages?

Thx!

The local channel here made a big deal out of that on Saturday night. Apparently it was their first broadcast in High Def. They explained some of it. I guess it is a much harder format to produce and they were nervous about getting it right. I noticed one time there was this weird split screen thing going on. Don't know if that was the broadcast or the satellite tranmission though.

I love the still photographs from the HD games.

The football package costs me around $200 now with the Superfan thing I just did, but in order to watch the HD games, you would need to buy an HD receiver.

Or in my case, upgrade from a regular Direct TV receiver to a High Def one.

I have 3 Receivers in my basement bar; two of which are HD. They are great!!!

Approximately half of the regular season games are available in High Def, at least they were last year.

In order to watch the preseason games, I believe you have to have the general sports package, which is like $10/month.

Somebody else can probably tell you better as I have had the Sunday Ticket since 1995. So I'm just used to it by now.

But I cannot explain enough how cool games in High Def are!! If you can afford it; get it.

God no...don't make me. When I go to Best Buy my wallet starts to wiggle when it sees HDTV. EBAY MasterCard just sent me another 5000 dollar line of credit and checks to go with it. I could go to Sioux Falls and load up. I will survive. God I'm tempted tho. I get an excellent picture. Just don't get me around HDTV and I'm fine. I'm like Homer when he licks the purple toad. I spent 600 bucks plus tax on a freaking boom box. I'm a salesman. They are the easiest prey of all. I will explain why. We see people fuss and consternate for hours. Negotiation over a car should take 5 minutes. Sometimes it took 5 hours. I allready got my best price on a Mazda 3, 12888. Called back and they said it was just sold...I could hear all the hacks laughing and rolling around. That car never existed...I knew it, they knew it.

The other night they talked to Rod Smith in the pre game warmup and told him to get his smile on because the game was in HD.

Rod started laughing and said didn't do him any good because he still had old school TV. Then he looks into the camera and makes an appeal for HD TV donations for the new house he is building.

Afterwards the announcers were laughing at how cheap Rod is. One of them mentioned Rod wanted to sell him his 99 Mercedes last week but wanted to look up Blue Book first.

So don't feel bad if you don't have HD. Rod can't even afford it.

Hahahahahhahaha.

Speaking of Sabol. How come Jim Mora's kid looks more like him than he does Mora? Everytime I see that guy I think he looks just like Steve Sabol....
