He's gone, people. Sandy Clough is usually right, and he said on FSRM that Clarett has pissed off Shanahan . . . we all know what happens when you cross MIKE! Besides, where are they gonna put all these tailbacks?? Mike Anderson is probably only listed #1 now as trade bait (just like last year). But even if he's traded - there is BELL, DAYNE, GRIFFITH.
Hey, who's gonna make the team at D-Line - and predictions? I'm guessing these guys are history: MONSANTO, RAYLEE, MARIO, ANTON Whadd'ya y'all think? |

Yeah, Sandy nailed it when he said that the Avs weren't going to let both Foote and Forsberg get away.

Shanahan probably realized what everyone else knew...he's a quitter. It was worth a shot if he's truly gone. I would be surprised if he wouldn't be in the last cuts tho.

I'll call bull**** on this one. No way Mike Shanahan lets his 3rd round pick get cut the first year.

Hey, I'm replying to MYSELF here - - yeah, you guys make good points. I think Clarett's injury was lingering just a BIT too long. I'll defend Clough on the AVs deal - WHO WOULD'VE EVR THOUGHT THE PREVIOUSLY SMART LACROIX WOULD TURN INTO A MORON IN THE LAST 30 DAYS?! HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING THAT IDIOT? He used to be smart. And by the way, Quentin's injury is rumored to be FAR more serious than people know. Got that from B. Williamson of the Post in a repsonse to my e-mail . . .

If Clarett gets cut, he gets cut. It will be his fault if he does. The funny thing is he could have been leaving Denver with about $400,000 in his pocket, but he turned down a normal contract. If he gets cut, he gets nothing.

I dont find this true. I really dont want MoC on the team if players dont like him, but if he can bring something in for us a little later in the year i say keep him. Shanny has a lot of pride so booting him would be a player he picked put personally would be a shock to me.

Honestly at this point i wish he would get cut just so we could all stop talking about our 5th string running back.

Thanks. He's been very nice returning 3 or 4 e-mails I've sent him since he rolled in from Minnesota! HEY! Not that there's anything wrong with this - SERIOUSLY NOT! - but I think Shefter is gay. WHen he did the Bronco Mailbag, he always said, "oh, I've been too busy covering the NFL to get married," yadda-yadda-yadda. C'mon, Adam. It's the 21st century - YOU ARE A TALENTED GUY!

broncobuff, killerbronco was being sarcastic when he said Burger Bill Williamson is treated with love and admiration on this board. He might respond to emails but he isnt a very good writer.
Regarding Clarett, I supported that pick, although Freak and myself wanted him in the 6th. Nonetheless, at the end of the third we both felt the upside far outweighed the risk. If Maurice still hasnt grown up, than its really a shame. I will be the first to admit I was totally wrong if he truly has been cut. I really thought given a chance in this offense, with our coaches, he would be a first class kind of guy. Even if he hasnt been cut it doesnt seem like he has endeared himself to the coaches or his teammates lately based on some comments in the papers and from Mediator and Khan's reports. He needs to be sat down and yelled at and scared ****less into form if thats the case. This is disappointing to me.

Where was all the media speculation about Leseur & Dorsett Davis the last two years? You'd find an article here or there about them, but never this much press. Geez, it was a conditional draft pick at the end of the third round, what do people expect?
It could have been a mistake, it could have been a brilliant move. The bottom line is, nobody knows yet, because the guys first training camp just ended. If he's a turd, we cut him down the road. We took Clarett on potential, which is pretty much all you can ask out of a third rounder. Maybe we could start writing articles about how the 49ers wasted a third round pick on a RB with two major knee injuries (Gore). Once the regular season starts, we'll start to see actual NFL news, like scores and stats. Who gives a **** if a third round pick doesn't earn everyone's respect in his first training camp. |
