Default Jeepers!

I have always been scared of Okoboji, and stay on Spirit Lake. They have 50 to 100k boats running around.

Spirit Lake is much more quiet. not quiet, but not a madhouse on water. We rarely have tragedy here, but some clown ran a boat clean thru another one and lopped off the husbands head, the wife evidently ducked and is only in serious condition. They are looking for the body and boat and the woman looks like she will recover. Her husband. without a functioning head, is up to serious speculation, but odds are off on that. I wouldn't even mention it but crime is rare here, and I'm sure it was an accident, but they ran off. Hell, I might too from fear. The kid was probably drinking and was not paying attention. I let some idiot take the bow and he ran between a skier and the boat and it's a miracle we didn't yank the guy's arm off. This place now have million dollar houses all around it, and is totally worthless for skiing. It's just plain dangerous.

I like West Lake. It's not real bad over in the Maywood area south of the park. I've skied many times on East and West but usually stay close to that area. Doesn't seem too bad to me. But yes, Spirit Lake is much quieter.

There is a decent bay there east of the park if the wind if blowing from the south. Emerson bay is where you go if the wind is in the north. There are just so many boats of Okolbiji now. I let some idiot drive and he went between a skiier and a boat. Then ne blew up my stern drive.

If you want to ski, Spirit Lake is your best bet.
I'm kinda looking at Ingam Lake up there. There is nothing there, which is fine with me. It's not deep but is damned. It's very raw and scenic. Okoboji has gotten out of control completely. It's a millionaire playground.

I have other lakes to run to to boat. It was only a matter of time tiill an accident happened.

Pfft, it would have no effect.

Every year they try for the football only thing on the main page and every year it fails. Trying for a football only main forum is like trying to read the label on a spinning CD......it's damn near impossible.

Well, the topic of Okoboji is a dear one to me. I love the Iowa Great Lakes region.

Anyway, thank goodness SOME type of football is on. I'm watching the Raider/9er game. The 49er's are taking it to the Raiders.

Kind of funny that only one person on this board is too stupid to follow the rules. Maybe somebody hacked into his account again.
