You gotta see George Foreman fighting Denver's own Ron Lyle. That fight was like something that would have been waged millions of years ago by a couple of cavemen.

You know Ron served seven years in prison before he even started his career, right?

So many great boxers in the 70s and 80s. Seemed like there were must see fights every other weekend. A house full of us watching Lyle vs Foreman, all yelling, jumping up and down, watching 5 of some of the greatest rounds ever fought. Thought for sure Lyle had him in the 4th, TWICE. In the fifth Lyle hurt him again but started running out of gas and Foreman pummeled him.

I didn't know then, but yes i'am aware of it now but it didn't take ron long to get his shot by pounding Manuel Ramos, Jack O’Halloran, Vincente Rondon, Buster Mathis, Luis Pires and Larry Middleton then finally lost to quarry but he got the attention he needed and some more wins he to finally get his shot at ali.

Yeah, I personally love watching any Joe Louis bout, especially his early ones where he was still some unkown kid out of Detroit but was taking on serious contenders and champions in his first dozen or so bouts.

I've yet to see any heavyweight have such a short windup for a left hook but with such devastating consequences as the caliber Louis possessed.
