Default Salisbury Ranting On Shanahan, Calls Our LBs Possibly Best in The League

Just on ESPN. He was all over the place saying Shanahan is over his head with the GM duties and is on the chopping block with the Browns moves. Then he says our LBs might be the best group in the league.

Why couldn't both those things be true in his opinion?

THE MEDIA HATES THE BRONCOS!

NOrmally I would agree with you Zach, about over-reaction on the Bronco faithful that a reporter with anything bad to say "hates the broncos".

However, of all the complaints on any message board, one is bound to be true and Salisbury does indeed hate the Broncos.

Now Im sure, that with all the various sports journalists in this nation, that more than a few hate KC, Oakland, Denver, San Diego or any other team in the NFL and that bias is, sometimes, blatantly obvious.

Salisbury is one of the obvious ones whom I do not think criticizes to criticize, but rather out of contempt and hatred. For whatever wrong he felt was done to him, perhaps he was denied an interview, or shrugged off by management, or he was slighted by the organization in some way, he has a profound and deeply rooted hatred for Denver.

Its like me and the Chiefs and the Raiders. My hatred for them is deep and profound, and were I a reporter I would not be able to disguise my bias because by nature, I am unable to give props to either team for anything.

Everyone of these journalists has a favorite team. Everyone of them. Except perhaps Costas, but even then I think he is a Giant fan. It is not unlikely that ALL of them hate at least one team in the NFL and Salisbury hates us.

On Saturday July 2, I was stuck in Fourth of July traffic and decided to give Salisbury and John Clayton a call on ESPN Radio after they previewed each of the 8 NFL divisions. I pretty much said in a nutshell both hosts were overemphasizing the "Browncos" moves and made a strong arugment that they were cap friendly, low risk-high reward transactions. Salisbury cut me off and kept blabbering on about Shanahan being a bad personnel guy. Pretty much what he has been saying on NFL Live.

Thanks for trying to stand up for the team, 52. It was destined to be fruitless though, once a guy like Salisp***Y gets into a position he'll dig in like a stubborn little b**** no matter what.

How does a bad personnel guy put together the league's best linebacking corp?

Sean Pretending to Be a Steak is as phony as his last name.

Or draft TD, Portis, Wilson, DJ, Lelie, Pryce, Hamilition, Neil, Hayword, Foster Gold, Kennedy, Brown, Mobley, Watts, Jeb, Desmond Clark, etc

Or find Walls, Smith, Easy Ed, Herdon, Lepsis,Berry.

Lot of top notch, top paid players there.

Salisbury saying we have the best linebackers in football is just further proof that his cranium occupies the same space as his colon.

Why anybody would listen to anything that SS says about any team in any sport is beyond me.

For that matter, Shanahan has already won two and Salisbury will never win one. BTW, the "worst personal guy in the NFL" brought in 13 of 22 starters on a team that won back to back Super Bowls.

My guess is still running Portis in OT against Cleveland after they got into FG range. Whatever it was it was something that happened after his AFC Preview before the '03 season.

Wasn't Salisbury loving Denver last year in the first 4 games of the season? If I remember right, he said at one point about game 3-4 in reply to criticism of Den that "they will be better by the end of the season."

Actually when Denver was 4-1 and Kansas City was 1-3, he said the Chiefs are still going to win the division.

In other words, he was regurgitating the same pointless crap he always does until he gets made a fool of and waffles right? I'll never forget when the Broncos started hot last year and he buckled like no other on his hardline "Broncos suck" stance, only to see us crumble after he made his humiliating retraction.

Actually, I might have discovered something there! Maybe we do better when nancyboy flavor clown makes us out to be a 5-11 club hmmmmm

Actually, I've heard more than once that Salisbury gets a lot of his 'inside' information/attitude about Denver from Mark Schlereth...no kidding.

I think John Clayton even made a subtle joke about it once, this is, that Mark's negativity was rubbing off, or something like that.

If you listen to Schlereth, he has become one of the more pointed critics of Shanahan & the Broncos.

I'm not sure why, or even if his relationship with the team soured, but Mark hasn't had much kind to say about his old team in recent months.

Schlereth is still pissed that they signed Dale Carter and started Griese in place of Bubby.

Carter was a putz but the whole team quite on Shanny benched Bubby. I really like Mark Schlereth, but he should remember that in 1995, no one else wanted him. The whole NFL thought he was shot and Shanny took a chance on him.

I have noticed that too and it has been like that for a lot more than a couple of months. He has been critical of the team and Shanny in particular for a couple of seasons now and I would love to know why.

I think its just his bitterness that things didnt end well for him here. He played hurt and was pissed off that at the end of his career when, like Dan Neil, he had a tough time walking and getting it done Shanny let him go.

He goes out of his way to attack us now which is fine. What bothers me is Shanny apparently still gives him info. If he is going to be a b**** on the air than he should be totally frozen out of the valley. If your an independent reporter now, dont buddy up to get scoops. There is a difference between being independent and not wanting to seem like a homer and going out of your way to constantly bad mouth the team. They should freeze him out of the Valley.

I dont know if our LBs are the best in the league, but id sure like to see one of them knock that fat ass out. I dont know why he hates us. Our ineptitude allowed him to have his greatest moment as a pro QB. He should be loving us.
