Default WP: The Impeachment Question

More than four in 10 Americans, according to a recent Zogby poll, say that if President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment.

But you wouldn't know it from following the news. Only three mainstream outlets that I can find made even cursory mention of the poll last week when it came out.

The Poll

The impeachment question was part of a Zogby International poll conducted early last week, and released on Thursday.

It found that Bush's job approval ratings had slipped a point from the previous week, to 43 percent.

But the jaw-dropper was that 42 percent said they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found that the president misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq.

Zogby noted: "While half (50%) of respondents do not hold this view, supporters of impeachment outweigh opponents in some parts of the country.

"Among those living in the Western states, a 52% majority favors Congress using the impeachment mechanism while just 41% are opposed; in Eastern states, 49% are in favor and 45% opposed. In the South, meanwhile, impeachment is opposed by three-in-five voters (60%) and supported by just one-in-three (34%); in the Central/Great Lakes region, 52% are opposed and 38% in favor. . . .

Pollingreport.com offers the results broken down by party. Among Democrats, 59 percent answered the impeachment question affirmatively -- as well as 25 percent of Republicans.

Even the pollster couldn't believe his eyes

If Bush is impeached, LABF would have a fatal orgasm.

Impeachment? Lying to get us into a war isn't important enough for impeachment... you have to do something totally earth shattering like spooge on an interns dress to be considered for that.

Default Bwahahahahaha!

Ahh this is too funny...maybe bad karma is catching up to him.I wonder if he'll declare war on mountain bikes rofl

Bush collides with police officer during bike ride
Scraped hands, arms bandaged

UCHTERARDER, Scotland (CNN) -- President Bush collided with a British police officer during a bike ride Wednesday evening, suffering scrapes on his hands and arms that required bandaging, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.

The officer, from the Strethclyde Police Department in Scotland, was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. He was treated and released, after an evaluation revealed no fractures, McClellan said.

Bush "visited" with the police officer for some time after the accident and asked White House physician Dr. Richard Tubb to monitor his situation at the hospital, McClellan said. The president was expected to call the officer later, McClellan said.

Despite a steady rain and chilly temperatures, Bush, an avid mountain biker, went for a ride at the Gleneagles resort in central Scotland, where he and other leaders of the Group of Eight economic powers will begin a two-day summit Thursday. (Related story.)
'A pretty good speed'

According to McClellan, the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. (1 p.m. ET), about an hour into the ride. Bush was going at "a pretty good speed" when he collided with the officer, who was in a security detail on the resort grounds.

The president, who was wearing a helmet, slid on the pavement, suffering scrapes on his hands and arms that were bandaged by Tubb.

McClellan declined to speculate about whether anyone was at fault in the crash.

The president's bicycle was damaged, and he returned to his hotel in an SUV that had been trailing him as he rode with a Secret Service agent, McClellan said.

This is not the first time Bush's mountain biking habit has led to injury. In May 2004, he suffered minor abrasions to his chin, upper lip, nose, right hand and both knees when he took a spill near the end of a ride at his ranch in Texas.

Awwww boo hooo. Did I upset you? You're such a drama queen. If you don't like us laughing at your hero then stay away from the war room. How many jokes did you make about Clinton's blowjob?

He can't eat pretzels without adult supervision, he can't stay upright on a Segway, and he's clueless on bikes.

Yet there are some who think he's a great leader?

Is that the view from BushWorld?

Here in reality, the boy king's approval numbers are sinking like a rock, and he's looking more and more like a lame duck with each passing GOP scandal.

Rigs may have fallen off things and/or done things to embarrass himself in his lifetime... but he's not "the leader of the free world". One would think, in light of Bush's past demonstrations of ineptitude with a bicycle, those in charge of ensuring his safety (the Secret Service) might attempt to discourage him from riding one.

The fact is that due to the office he holds, he represents all of America and when he skids on wet pavement and wipes out a Scottish policeman injuring himself in the process, he embarrasses more than just himself. He comes off as a menace who lacks the common sense to slow down when he encounters hazardous road conditions such as wet pavement.

He was probably smirking before the collision and when the secret service told him to slow down cuz he might run into someone he yelled "Bring em on!"
