I've got a situation to where we are facing losing alot of our tailgating space. I'm meeting with the Director of parking tomorrow @ 3:00pm. For whatever reason they say our additional space needs to go to overflow parking instead.
Also they are saying my bus is 6ft longer than what is allowed. It wasn't a problem last year and they gladly accepted my payment for the spots. When the bill was due shortly after last season I again paid up in full. Now they want to keep the money and give me less space? Huh? They want our additional space back for overflow parking. Overflow parking is for the people who can afford to pay for premium parking who rush into the game at the last minute and are usually the first people to leave when the score isn't in our favor. I have the pictures to prove it. What's interesting is this "overflow" parking that they needed doesn't even get used. Infact alot of the people who pay for RV spots don't even use them. Spot #30 next to ours was vacant almost all season long! Meanwhile there are die hard fans that tailgate up to a mile away and set up early in the morning regardless of the weather conditions. This is not the case for the "overflow" parkers. These people don't even tailgate. They simply park their overpriced car in a spot that IMO should be reserved for tailgaters. It wouldn't be such a big deal but all of last season security was already on our case about crossing the little yellow line that borders our tailgating spot saying we were taking too much space. We had plans to incorporate the ClubCrush's vehicle into the tailgate and as of last week we had the room. That club consists of 500 Broncos/Crush fans. The club had such a good time in the lot at the Pepsi center that alot of the members expressed carrying over the energy to the Broncos lot. Also with the ability to park the Clubs Vehicle there we can haul all the bbqs, tents, and other stuff which will save on the wear and tear on OF1 and make things alot easier. So please if you could simply list your name that would be helpful. I'm afraid if we lose this space the security guards will come down on us even more for our Broncomania being too large. Broncomania is something you would think they want to promote! During my meeting tomorrow with them I will show them this thread along with color photos of some of our tailgates last year so they realize that this is not just about a couple locals and a bus. This space is needed for all of you guys when you come and visit. Save our space! We aren't asking for special treatment but we are asking for the same amount of space that we've already paid for and understood that we could use. Hopefully we will be able to resolve this issue or come up with some middle ground. I think so with your help. Tailgating is an important aspect of the game day experience and Broncomania! The tailgate is where we all met one another in person at one game or another and the Broncos need to understand that. Perhaps there is more to their reasoning about the issue that I don't know about and if so I will let you guys know. Sorry to make a big deal about this and drag you all in but I feel like my back is against the wall and I want the Broncos to know there is more to the tailgating spot #31 than just a bus. Spot #31 has becoming a gathering spot for Broncos fans from all over www and we plan on keeping the partying and the Broncos spirit alive regardless of what happens at the meeting tomorrow. Thanks guys. GO BRONCOS! Last edited by Meck77; 07-05-2005 at 07:27 PM.. |

Look forward to meeting you MT-Dawg. I hope you and your lady can get out to Denver BigFan! Here is just one more reason we need the space. BigFan is a big Broncos fan!

I was at the Panthers game w/ a few friends, and hope to attend the Eagles game.
If I recall correctly, the lot you parked in seemed 1/2 empty the entire time, so I don't see what the stadium's problem is? It's amazing how professional sports continues to distance themselves from the fans who made them what they are. The fans are the ones that make coming to a game an experience. You could have the most luxurious seating, best ammenities, but it's the people that fill those seats, that make it what it is. I can tell you, that living in the Philadelphia area, the Eagles cater to their tailgaters. Their pre-game atmosphere is like a frat party. Hopefully the Broncos do the right thing by you. It would be a damn shame to see another great institution go by the wayside, for the wine & cheese crowd! |

I am hoping to make it by this year. You do a great job and certainly support the Broncos more than some newbie schmuck.

I don't think that I will but I would like to say that I find it to be some BS that they keep trying to find ways to kill our HFA. They need to spend less time worring about the fan that has a 40,000 plus car and more about the ones that come to the game when its cold out and MAKE NOISE during the damn game!!!!!! I don't want anything like the Raiders game happening next year.

Along with this, if any of y'all have any extra pictures from games that you haven't sent in yet, please post them here - I'm trying to compile pictures from this past year to put in to a small album to show them how we've used our spot, whereas the "overflow" parking does not use the areas that are allotted to them, as it is...

They're insane...this isn't just for the Bronco fans that live in Denver...we are coming from all over...Washington, NY, ND and .......(add your state!)
What's a Tailgate without the fans? Isn't that what the parking lot is for ![]() |
