Default Chiefs sign Ambrose

Good move. Better than Bartee or McCleon.

Not sure about that Bob....Ambrose WAS good...in the late 90's. An old slow 5'10 corner puts fear in our hearts for sure.

Ambrose was a top corner in the late to mid 90's but he is way passed his prime, i love this move for the shear fact that our WR's will burn him like there is no tomorrow. Ambrose and Jerry Rice went to the same college by the way.

It's funny...I once wrote a mock recap of a Super Bowl the Chiefs won. Ambrose was one of the corners in the mock article.

If it was 1996 it would be a great signing by the Chiefs, but my calender says it's 2005.

BYIF had to have written that article more recently than 1996, because he couldn't possibly be more than 8 or 9 years old right now.

Man, the one player I was hoping they wouldn't sign. This guy just made their defense whole again... that is, he put the D in their otherwise _efense!

Forget about Champ, Woodson, and Surtain... there's a new top dog CB in the West. I'm worried about this one. This might just be the difference maker the Chefs were lacking.

You think he is extra insurance since Battle is out for the year and another CB is facing a drug suspension of 4 games?

That is exactly what he is. He will probably take Warfield's spot as the #2 CB while/if Warfield is suspended. After Warfield gets back he will be the nickle or the dime.

I was hoping we would sign Beasley who is only 31, and who I thought had been more impressive in recent years. There were rumors that he came into the tryout really out of shape while Ambrose was in prime condition.

The thing you're going to get from Ambrose is solid fundamentals... He'll look like a seasoned pro while he's getting burned.
