Default Police investigate shooting at Arrington's Party

Arrington isnt in trouble dont get your hopes up...

espn.com
Associated Press

GAMBRILLS, Md. -- Police are investigating the shooting of a security guard at a pool party hosted by NFL linebackers LaVar Arrington and Julian Peterson.

Investigators don't believe Arrington was near the spot where James Sidney was shot and injured, although the Washington Redskins player was present at the party, police spokesman Lt. Joseph Jordan said Tuesday. It was not clear whether Peterson was at the party Saturday night, Jordan said.

No one has been charged in the shooting and there are no suspects, Jordan said.

"I had no involvement in the incident, and to my knowledge neither did any of the guests at the party," Arrington said in a statement. "I feel terrible about the injury to the guard, who was only doing his job, and pray he recovers quickly and fully."

James Sidney was shot when he intervened in a scuffle at the party, police said. He was flown to a hospital in Baltimore, where he was in serious but stable condition, Jordan said. A hospital spokeswoman said Sidney requested that no further information be released.

Arrington and Peterson, who plays for San Francisco, hosted the party along with a company called True Playaz Entertainment at a 18,000-square foot mansion they rented, according to Jordan.

An agent who represents both Arrington and Peterson did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

How can you not love the face of the NFL today? Those guys from the fifties and sixties were so damned clueless. They could have gotten away with such **** if they'd only had the sense to be born later, now that character doesn't matter a flip and our heroes are finally paid enough to afford the best legal obfuscators.

You're overreacting. That guard probably disrespected someone.

I really dont see what a security guard getting shot has anything to do with the NFL. I realize that it was a party hosted by an NFL player. But with no more info there is available in this article, there is no connection to the actual shooter.

It could be a person who was trying to get into the party and was denied. In any event, the senarios are boundless. Until there is more info available, I will reserve my judgement of the NFL.

True Playaz Entertainment must come complete with gangsta action for your party enjoyment.

It's like a reality party.

I don't believe that players in the 50's and 60's were totally innocent back in the day. It's just that there are more "investigative" sports reporters these days that pick up the dirt rather than have it swept under the rug like it was back then.

But at the same time, there seems to be a greater % of players these days that appear to behaving like the bad guys rather than sports heroes. Heroes are there, but they are harder to find amidst the scandal driven media.

From what I've read about Frankie Lane and Hornung, they would have fit right in.

I think we better get out of Hogan's way. Gangstas and Flava Clowns? Pretty sure he's going to push everyone out of the way to get True Playaz programmed on his speed dial.

Party at Hogan's! BYOG!

Too much money at too young an age. I'd like to see how half the members of this board would behave if they had millions of dollars right out of or during their college years....it appears most of us behave badly enough without the money!

I think I read somewhere that Taylor's trial starts the day after the Skins home opener. Someone in the DA's office really wants Denver to get a top 5 pick.

His lawyers will move for a continuance and nothing substantive will happen until after the season.

Did the guard work for Rolling Stones at Altamont?

The dude would be pretty old. Could probably supply the weed though.

I wonder if the drugs come in the Partay package with the Flava Clowns.

At this point in time I wonder if anyone in the NFL doesn't think that the skins traded the 1st pick in next years draft for our 25th pick. For all the crap about our draft they seem to leave that nice bright spot off of it.
