Excerpt from his blog .......
GOP Talks About War, While Democrats Actually Fight in War: All Able-Bodied Republicans Should Put Their Money Where Their Collective Mouths Are and Sign Up! Posted by Hello
Good morning to all. Here's a post on something which was already burning me up this morning, but then when reading about what GOP guru Karl Rove said last night in New York http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8324598/, I'm just beside myself with lividness. Bottom line is this: I am sick and tired of Republicans running their collective mouths about how much they support this war, yet not getting off of their fat asses and placing their shoulders up against the collective grindstone in any real way.

GOP Talks About War, While Democrats Actually Fight in War:

This is stupid. My best friend is a republican and even further to the right then I. He just got back from Iraq after serving there for a year.

It is just one Marine's opinion as well.

I'm sure he is not the only one with that opinion. And I thank him for his time and him risking his life. But it is dumb for him or anyone else to claim that only Dems are serving over there.

I guess. But George Bush Sr. was shot down in WWII, but that wouldn't stop, let us say, L.A. Bronco from jumping all over his case for something he said he didn't agree with.

I have MANY friends in the military, and my g/f's sister is a drill sargeant for the army. Right before the election I went through and asked every single one of them who they were going to vote for... I got 100% for bush, not only that but they were damn adamant about it.

I think he is just saying, like I did, that he knows many repbublicans that are over there and that it is dumb to say that Dems are the only ones fighting over there. Which we both agreed with.

It wasnt the fact that they were going to war, or that they got back from war.. just the fact that they are part of the military. They are the ones being thrust into this position and yet they still stand behind their leader more than you can imagine.

Spider, when the Dems passed legitimate budget cuts...they usually cut military spending...not to mention alot of these guys in the military remember when the Dems turn the army, navy, etc into a social experiment with the gays and women in combat stuff.

I'd say the disparity between Republican military voters and Democrat military voters is about the same as black Dems vs black Republicans.

Do note that talking about politics and who you are going to vote for in the military is a very...uhm.. sensitive.. topic.

That said, all of this 'I know such and such...' is evidence of nothing. I suspect the military itself looks a lot like America. Split somewhere down the middle.
