Who the hell combined these threads?

It's a different topic for crying out loud.

Whoever did it.

It sucks.

I disagree with that.

There you go. I have a higher standard than "most guys". That way when they get lucky, so do I.

Test your guy friends. Come on to them and see which ones turn you down. I but none of them do.

Perhaps that's why I said when they get lucky, so do I.

You're not making a great case for the guy side of things here. Aren't you pretty much saying guys are so worthless they only want women friends because they think they have a shot to get em in the sack?

I have a lot of quality male friends. And no, I wouldn't proposition them just to see where they stood. I have a little bit of respect for my husband.

Subtle, that.

So is another version of going 'commando' wearing a muscle top and nothing else? Inquiring minds want to know.

My statement wasn't really made to help out either side. It was made in jest, but I really do believe it's true. And I think it's pathetic when guys do that. Some guys end up in the friend zone even though they didn't want to be there, and they stay there hoping to get lucky, which won't happen. When guys are in the friend zone, they really aren't true friends. Most women don't like to believe that to be true, but it is.

BTW, I don't get the combined thread thing either...makes no sense. Probably just one of those, "I'll just **** with her a little" trips.

Guess what? It didn't work.

I'd say that men and women view ''friends" differently. There are women that I see in passing, or in a group that I'm involved with. I talk to them and am friendly. But does that make them a true friend? I wouldn't say that. True friends are people that you talk to often, and are a real part of their lives. When a guy is that close to a woman, he's trying to score. When a guy helps you move, or is that shoulder that you cry on, he's trying to score.

I can't disagree with this enough, and I would hope a lot of the guys out there would be with me on it.

And I have a couple of very good male friends that fit your bill of description there, so I continue to vehemently disagree with your assessment.

News flash.

I talk to my male friends nearly every day. All of them are an important part of my life. I'm pretty sure most of them would give me the shirt off their back, and I know they have my loyalties.

Then again, I don't find much use in any kind of stereotyping and try to live my life that way.

I guess you'll never know where they really stand, because you aren't going to give them the test. How does your husband feel about these guy friends? Or are these friends through him? Or friends that you guys met as a couple?

That's the answer that all women give when this question comes up. But guys will always have the opposite answer (when talking to each other). They just wouldn't tell you that.

Of course I'm not going to give them the test! I've always had guy friends. I had them before I met him, and I still have them. I've kept old ones and made new ones too. Some of them are married too. Another reason for no testing. Sheesh!

I don't need to put them to some silly "test" to find out where they stand.

I'm not telling you to put them to the test. I'm just saying that if you did the results would surprise you. They'd all take the bait.

Hey Jason, did you ever wonder if maybe this was just your experience and maybe some other shallow guys?

No, they wouldn't.

I'd be curious as to some other guys' opinions on this issue.

Women don't know what men say behind closed doors. So when you hear something like this you are shocked. You'd be shocked to hear most of the stuff men say to each other. It would probably make you sick to know what we really think. Men in general are like this. There are always exceptions.
