Default Cool item on Ebay

Former Broncos Punter Bucky Dilts' 1977 AFC Championship ring.

I remember the story of a Raider player (Lester Hayes, maybe?) selling his ring. He was in some podunk town and became severely ill and needed the cash for medical treatment. Once he got better, he blew town and either forgot to go back for it or figured it was gone. Years later, it shows up on Ebay. If I'm not mistaken, Raider fans won the auction and returned the ring to him. This was a couple of years back, so my memory's admittedly fuzzy on the whole ordeal...

Less than $800 for an actual Super Bowl ring is ungodly.

I believe Bucky owns one of those franchises that makes signs, banners, etc. up in Boulder.

The seller's name has Pawn Shop in the title.

He may not know why the ring was sold/pawned.

On a side note, I remember about 4-5 yrs ago, Derrick Loville's SB ring was on Ebay as well. Could you imagine parting with THAT?

Could we all chip in together and give it back to him If he has fallen on hard times and had to sell it to survive?

Someone should buy it and tell him to keep it. I'm sure he would sell it again though.

The Bronco's Orange Crush defense was referred to as "The Proud Handholding Blood Brothers of Football" on the cover of a football rag in 77. They actually held hands in the huddle.

Not kidding.

Tre,

The nerdy handholding ended prior to '77 thankfully.

The handholding was a Ray May thing that he brought from his time in Baltimore.

Thankfully it went out with Ralston at the end of '76.

Oh yeah. Now that you remind me, that picture was from the season they lost to Oakland in the last game of the season (?) and missed the playoffs. I think. -- But you will know. A friend of mine got all liquored up during that game and wanted to go to Stapleton and kick Biletnikov's ass.

I was just excited to see the Broncos on the front page of anything.....

Well guess what bucky responded to my email,so if somebody out there has a big heart bucky seems to be in financial trouble.Maybe someone who has someone on the inside of the bronco organization could help out?just trying to see what we could do to help out old bucky.(This is what he responded)

You hate hearing that it came to that... for anybody, whether it's a Super Bowl ring or a watch their daddy gave them. I hate seeing people forced to deal away items that represent their own pride. Takes more that money to get that back.
