6.)Denver (from Washington) DE - Mathias Kiwanuka - Boston College 17.)Denver OT - Max Jean-Gilles - Georgia http://www.draftboardinsider.com/mock/2006.html 5. AJ Hawk (D'Brickshaw goes 6th) 23. Orien Harris http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2006.php 1. Denver Broncos: Matt Leinart, QB, USC Denver got away with armed robbery when the Redskins surrendered their first-round pick to them prior to the 2005 Draft. Washington is the worst team in the NFL. Sooner or later, Mike Shanahan has to realize that Jake Plummer is not the answer at quarterback. If he has the opportunity to take Matt Leinart, he should. 10. Denver Broncos: Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio State Rod Smith will be 36 in May 2006, and other than him, Ashley Lelie and Darius Watts, the Broncos have nothing at wide receiver. http://www.widewordofsports.com/Arti...ticles-441.htm 4- Washington Redskins (moron) - Matthias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College Can you think of another Redskin need besides a speed pass-rusher? I mean, besides a coach that's stuck in the 80's. 22 - Denver Broncos - Jesse Mahelona, DT, Tennessee They just had to see for themselves when it came to Gerard Warren being an underachieving slacker. They've seen enough. |

It's hard to be unhappy with any mock that has us getting possibly the best pass rushing DE in the draft. My only question with this one is that NFLdraftcountdown has Gilles listed as a guard rather than a tackle. Either way, the first one is a very nice draft.
The 2nd one is very questionable. The Broncos pass on Ferguson, Kiwanuka & Wright to take a LB? Ummm, no? If there's one position that the Broncos are set at, it's LB. I do like the Orien Harris pick at 23 though. The next one is interesting for the fact that they've got the Broncos with two top ten picks. I don't think that'll happen but I wouldn't weep if it did. Having the 1st overall pick is an ideal situation, but is Leinart the guy? I would hope that the Broncos would look to trade down from that spot with someone who was salivating over Leinart and in need of a QB (like possibly Miami or Cleveland). I don't like the Holmes pick at all. They pass on Mario Williams, Mathis Kiwanuka & Eric Winston to take a WR with a top ten pick in what appears to be a weak draft for WR's? I'd be three shades of pissed. The last one is pretty odd overall, but I'll be allright with both picks going to the D-line. Nice finds Herc. |

If Warren EE play good this year do you think DE will still be a top priority in the Broncos eyes? For the record I'm hoping for DE LT with Wash pick and DT LT with our pick most of all. |

Do you really see Shanny going QB? He is awful loyal to Plummer and I doubt he's ready to make a switch yet or groom his replacement.

Leinhart, Wright, Haloti Ngata, and Mathias Kiwanuka are names that jump out at me right now.

If our Brownies dont pan out the way we hope for them too i can see us taking 3 Dlinemen in a row in the first 2 rounds.
1) Kiwaunka DE BC 2) Harris DT THE U 3) Tapp DE VT Now i have some comments on Tapp. He is going to be a fine player in the NFL. He reminds me of Dwight Freeney, maybe not as fast, but he sure can get around that end, he is an excellent pass rusher and if we take these 3 stud dlinemen in the first 2 rounds you will not hear complaints from me. |

Man, I would really love that AJ Hawk pic, then DJ could stay at WLB, but we wanted to overpay for a midget LB.
It foiled my desire to draft Kevin Burnett, and now it will foil my desire for AJ Hawk. |

I would rather draft Kiw then Ngata. Ngata is a monster and will take two people to block him almost everydown. |

If we didn't sign Gold and had Spragan or Sykes still playing SLB, then I would be all over A.J. hawk as a pick next year, but now with Gold we have too much invested in him and the other LB's to go and draft one high |

Kind of. From what I understand he is very very strong. He was smart not to come out this year because he still has room to improve. |

We're on like 13 years and running, pretty damn impressive to say that in the last 13 years we haven't been one of the worst 10 teams in the league in any of those 13 years.. |
