We've been there. The year I graduated from high school (95), the day after graduation, there was a snowstorm just like this. It ruined everything. Broke trees, powerlines, killed flowers. I remember thinking how freaky it was.

Gosh, I hope that storm isn't coming up our way. We've had rain for a week straight, and I just planted my flowers!

I was up at about 5 this morning &, just for a brief time here in Aurora, there was a mix of rain & snow.

It all quickly changed over to all rain but that's the first snow I've seen in the immediate Denver area in June in quite a while

...bet Mock's farmer friends out east are happy guys.

Yeah, that snow is dangerous.

Not as dangerous as living in the murder capitol of the country, but....it's cold....and stuff.

Mock's corn is shoulder high in Arkansas mud, But our soybeans are totally abandoned.

Mock isn't going to get a crop in. I don't have a soybean crop.

It's a disaster, and it rained again last night.

Arkansas is killer, Iowa is on insurance.

I wanted to make Soybeans, but I'm rained out. It's June 6 and I can't get in the field, even with my crazy tractor.

I am mud. Several tried to get in the field and just got clods.

I have fancy equipment.

I have a tractor that can go thru three feet of water.

Bad weather here. I can't plant in water.

Arkansas corn will be due in only two months.

I can't get in the field here in Iowa.

I can't even plant beans. If I can't get them in my June 15 it's all over.

It rained again last night. It's a crop disaster here. It's actually cool because I'm going to get insurance.

I would like to make crop to feed the world, but too wet.

Iowa is done.

Arkansas, I will have a huge crop.

With all the non-stop talk about the world heating up, this type of news brings a smile to my face. I live in San Diego and I think this city has the most boring weather in the world. I would love to see snow on the ground and feel the chill of below freezing temperatures right about now.

This winter by wyoming standards was mild , we only broke below zero once, 2week period around Xmas time ..... I first moved to Wyoming , waist high snow , and sub zero temps ........ Distant memories now , I gues El nino is still around ....... all we need is 1 real Wyoming winter , to run these peole out of here

Yep, Wyoming needs 3 consecutive years at 200% rainfall to recover from the drought at the current rain levels, of course like §Pide® says 3 more months of snow would pretty much get us to that 200% for 3 years level. My favorite (infamously) Wyoming June snow memory, rolling my '91 Ford Explorer Sport on the way to Sheridan over WYO 14A Burgess Jct. For my first Job Interview out of College, on JUNE Fing 2nd. 6 inches of slush and snow combined with a slight oversleep of the alarm clock conspired to cause me to drive too fast for conditions and throw my exploder into a double twisting summersault, level of difficulty 2.0, dive off the side of a very steep mountain, luckily I was wearing a seat belt and walked away w/ only a small scratch on the top of my head. How incredibly fing lucky I was I cannot even begin to describe!

PS I didn't get the job.

Without fail, all five years of college down in laramie, it would snow for spring break. Heavy storms, would shut down I-80 and the Snow Chi Mihn trail. Every year! Caused me to miss the Pearl Jam Concert in Boise. Really F-ing pissed me off. Still though got to love Laramie, Best time of my life.

Edited for drunken idiocy

One time we had a road trip to Frasier Wyoming. The heat went out and we made a pup tent on the bed.
It was like -10 in the room. We had quite a party. It was a free room and the women were all bundled up, but that didn't stop the party...if you catch my drift.

I copped a feel but not sure what it was. It was too cold to be concerned. The girl I was with was frigid, so we had to help her out.

Mock is in the great white. Sassy lives in the greater white north. North Dakota is a constant disaster area. Northern Iowa is bad enough.

Sassy must be a bear.

My crop is washed out. It rained again.

Might try to plant later this month. Beans have to be in by June 15, or it's too late.

It's a mosh pit here.

Get 'er done aint doin' it this year. I would like to help feed the world, but I'm too wet to plant.

Got a catapillar tractor, but the beans will just drown.

Got insurance tho.

10 inches of rain is too much to handle.

One of the common misconceptions about planet temperature rising is that different geographic areas will just get warmer. The real concern with planetary warming is that makes havoc of weather patterns. Snow in places, and at times you don't expect, hurricanes, torrential rains, etc. If it was just a case of the place getting a couple of degrees warmer it would not be that major an issue, it is the violent ramifications on whether that is at stake.

We finally had a halfway normal precipitation here in the Denver area. Had the 2nd driest Feb ever - 1/100th of an inch (Iguess the driest Feb ever was zero - how do you get below 1/100th?) - but I think the drought is breaking, here anyway and out east to western Nebraska, where they had been very dry since '97.

The "seasonal" streams are running for the first time since 2000. The natural springs that dried up 2002-2004, most of them are starting to run again, except for the smallest of them. I did a scouting trip down 285 yesterday, and it still doesn't look like a old-time June 4 snowpack. Probly cause the permanent snowfields that used to reside over treeline disappeared the last 8 years. Gonna take about 10 years of normal snowpack/normal temps to build up those permanent snowfields again.

Spring runoff appears to be pretty much over. The aspen are just starting to leaf out over 9000 or so. I didn't go into 4wd only territory, but I don't think there's many alpine lakes that are still frozen - which is early yet again.

Yeah, we are still in drought territory here too, but it is looking so much better than it was supposed to be. A couple of months ago, they were forecasting the worst drought ever. Thank God we got all this rain!

A couple degrees warmer across the board ain't so great either. Whole ecosystems change over time.
