As to the video game/TV/activity thing, it isn't an issue for us... the kids have all liked physical outdoor activities like bike riding, sports, and fishing. They're all height/weight proportionate and some people might even describe one son and one daughter as "too slender" (no eating disorders either; thank goodness; just fast metabolism).

My philosophy is that if the kids' behavior is such that I enjoy their company, other people are likely to enjoy their company as well. And as others here have said, it's not uncommon for our friends to remark that they're very well-behaved.

That's the nice thing about being a former Marine, I got my daughter's boyfriend convinced that I can kill him nice and quiet, and dispose of the body where no one will find it.

I know a guy that the first time the boyfriend came over he asked him to drive him to 7-11 to get some cash. Boyfriend thought oh boy hes gonna give me "the talk". Nothing was said all the way to 7-11 the father went in and came out a few minutes later with at brown paper bag he had hidden in his back pocket. He proceeded to jump into the car yelling GO GO GO I just knocked the place off. The boyfriend flew back to his house scared to death. Obviously the father had not knocked off the store The daughter was not impressed in the least.

You have my utter condolensces.

Wait until she gets her learners permit, and then what you used to think were your car keys, are only yours when she is done driving you around.

It was last weekend at the Colorado Crush game, I had a few more beers and then believed that it was some other girl, and that my baby would come running up saying "daddy."

Hmm sounds like the time a friend of mine and me went into the hay field to cut the frame off of an old semi trailer. We were gonna cut a chunck off and use it to make us a trailer. Anyway moral of the story dont use a cutting torch in a dry hay field.

! I cringe at the thought. Who knows what her dad would do. Gosh, I wish I could just skip the teenage years. I'm scared to death of them.
