When confronted with multiple instances of child molestation perpetrated by rethugs, all the rethugs on this board have done is the usual, i.e., defend, deflect, and make excuses for the perp.

Despicable!

Where have I ONCE defended, deflected, or made excuses for any of those listed? Your selective interpretation is at it again.

But what have you done about the problem, RaiderH8r? Unless GOP voters complain... vocally... or worse, withhold their $$... the national GOP isn't going to do anything to change the situation. If you're angry that so many of your party's elected officials have been accused of pedophilia... and you do nothing about it, then you're certainly not part of the solution and if you continue to vote Republican and support the party with your $$, then you might even be a part of the problem.

No kidding R8R,

If the things listed in that list are in fact true I hope they are nailed to the wall. There is no defense or excuse for such an act...plain and simple.

BTW Blue, I did write my local congressman about it asking if they were true and if so what's being done about it. I haven't heard back.

Right here:

Quote:
Clearly you have no problem casting the GOP as the party of the Rugrat Rump Rangers, but that is not the case.
You deflect by shifting the focus to the GOP in general when, in fact, the focus is on a list of specific members of your party who have been outed as pedophiles.

And I don't see you demanding any accountability for these molesters in your party.

Wait a second...

Shouldn't Democratic supporters withhold their support and $$$ because of Robert "Sheets" Byrd and Ted "Chappaquidick" Kennedy? Where on the realm of contemptible do pedophilia, KKK membership, and criminally negligent manslaughter lie?

Are you suggesting that the party as a whole is complicit for the acts of these few? Does Spider have a list of "Where are they now?" Are they currently running or serving elected office? Are they receiving GOP $$?

I know Marion Berry is serving on the DC council and received Dem $$, are you supportive of crackheads serving? Probably not.

Again, overactive imagination.

That's not deflection, that's a response to the insinuation that the GOP, myself included, support and/or condone this behavior. Which, of course, you would like people to believe and it's just not true. You need your eyes checked, see "boots, coathangers, and vices rehabilitation method" for clarification.

Well, I guess it's like asking if you would like your **** burger with or without a bun. Either way...you're eating ****. I agree that crimes against children are heinous, but the point that castigating an entire political party for the actions of these people is fallacious and offensive. Because Kennedy is a Dem who commited negligent homicide is it reasonable that all Dems support negligent homicide? No. Likewise is the case here. I'm not arguing degrees of immorality, I'm arguing against the insinuation that this is a representative perspective of the GOP. It's crap. It's a representative perspective on ****bags who happen to be GOP. I am many things and I am not defined by GOP, I define myself and that happens to be GOP. I suspect many others do likewise.

It's better to be the dead victim of murder than a survivor of pedophilia? Pedophilia itself is worse than death?

Wow.

What, beyond what I've already said on the matter, do you require for satisfaction that I've condemned these people to a sufficient degree?

Not at all.

You are trying to deflect attention from the list of specific rethugs who have been outed as pedophiles by focusing on an illusory "insinuation that the GOP, myself included, support and/or condone this behavior."

As long as you focus on this make-believe "insinuation" you can defer any actual demand for accountability for the rethugs on the list.

For starters, a demand that these individuals be removed from office.

As Spider noted, this is a reach because the incidents referred to are 30+ years old, while the pedophile list is relatively current.

But to answer your question, yes, if one wants any change to the political status quo, a grassroots upheaval (preferably one affecting the financial bottom line) is the way to go.

Are they in office? Is there a "Where are they now?" list as I've asked before? Are they running for office? Are they receiving GOP $$?

I see. In other words, if it's been a long time, it's tolerable.

BTW, how do we know that Spider's list is recent? There are few, if any dates, associated with those cases. IIRC, Schwarzenegger is mentioned having done something in his late 20s - he's now in his mid-50s. That's pretty close to 30 years.

Of course.

So when are Democrats going to get rid of Byrd and Kennedy, instead of their current lofty positions as elder statesmen and exemplars of the Democratic Party?
