Default I ran into the Smilin Assasin and Crock in Vegas

Both Ray Crockett and Steve Atwater were in Vegas this past couple of days for the ICSC convention. I talked briefly with both and thanked them for there time here. I asked Crockett if he considers himself a Lion, Bronco or Chief. He gave me a look and just said "Come on man, what do you think?" Atwater got a big kick out of that. It's no wonder the signed their names with XXXII and XXXIII. I also saw David Treadwell at the convention. I saw Rodger Staubach and Emmitt Smith there too.

I was in Ceasars before the Contender on Tuesday and saw a boat load of athletes and Stars. Hulk Hogan, Lamar Odom, Tommy Hearns, Al Bernstien, Peter from Office Space (Ron something), the hot fromer playmate on FSN Lisa Dergen (sp?) I am drawing a blank on the others I saw.

If I had actually "ran" into Atwater would be in a hospital, he's a big dude and he still looks like he could play.

What did you think of Atwater? I've heard he's one of the nicest guys you could meet.

I'd like to meet him someday, he was one of my favorite players.

He was very friendly. It was only for a couple of minutes, but both he and Crockett were very cool.

International Council of Shopping Centers. There were over 40,000 people at the convention/trade show from big developers and retailers to the peon brokers like myself. I did win a grand playing Black Jack, so that was nice.

Ron Livingston is really short. Funny how they don't seem to be short on screen.

I've heard nothing but great things about Steve Atwater. I have never had the privilege, however I met a guy who had an internship for 2 summers luckily in 97 and 98 under the "Greek" Steve Antonopolous. After finding this out, I berrated this poor soul w/tons of broncos questions and he said unquestionably Atwater was his favorite. This Athletic trainer intern said Atwater had to constantly ice both shoulders, pre and post practice as well as tons of assisted stretching and exercises just to suit up. Nothing but class, and he would always slip a couple of hundred bucks in the guys locker for the weekend for helping get through the weeks.

That was cool of him. I'd like to meet Atwater some day.

Also, i've heard he had shoulder problems, but never knew anything beyond that. Can someone tell me exactly what the deal was with his shoulders and how it happened?

All I ever heard is that it was general wear and tear from the rigors of the NFL. Wish I had more information for you. On a side note the intern A.T. did tell me about an incident where he wiped Atwater out in the training room. Steve flew over him while he was packed in ice. Most NFL players would have been royally peeved and ready to kill a scrawny trainer intern, Atwater couldn't stop laughing and was a great sport about the whole incident. Reportedly he was nothing but class.

After Atwater, the guy's favorite player to be around was Alfred Williams. Anyone who has seen his interviews would know why, infectious personality.
