i would rather watch 'phantom 100 times than watch 'jedi once again. even harrison ford referred to ep. 3 as the teddy bear picnic.

HOWEVER..... w/ever i find myself taking this all too serious..........i remember tom servo, crow t robot, and mike or joel.
and, "repeat to yourself its just a show, i should really just relax........"

Star Wars had it's day, but Lucas can give it a rest now. I mean, we GOT the concept already...enough.

BTW, some squares out west are in critical condition (18 year old gal, 20 year old guy) because they decided to go 'jedi' and dressed up to have a lightsaber duel...the lightsabers were glass tubes filled with petrol. When these geniuses clacked the glass together, you can guess what happened...

BOOOM!

And now the two are in the hospital in critical condition. No updates I'm aware of. And in Arizona, a man dressed as Darth Vader raced into a bank to rob it. He grabbed a few dollars and fled (not caught). Guess dude needed to pay for the costume rental.

Fun is fun, but some people are split from reality altogether.

I found neither wisdom or humor in his dyslexic speech patterns and I thought his turn as mentor for young Skywalker was done better in many other mediums. He did kind of grow on me a little, in subsequent installments.

I didn't care for Lucas' decision to present the movie in Saturday afternoon serial fashion, complete with Han Solo in a carbon cliffhanger. Who cares?

Of course, my beef with the Ewoks. If you can see something that contrived and calculating and still feel your soul fill with joy and wonder, then I almost envy you. It made me sick.
Yes, I know alot of people who hate the whole series as well, but of people who do, your the only one who I ever said doesn't like Empire. But the more of you posts that I read, my guess is that you don't like the series much. Your loss.

BTW, it wasn't just Empire that was told in "Saturday afternoon serial" fashion, they all are.

I'm not a real big Ewok fan, but the rest of Jedi is pretty damn good, so I don't let them bother me.

It wasn't America that didn't want to see a kid with Character weaknesses, it was King George.

He said in EW, that he wanted Anakin to start out good and become a monster. He didn't think it was much of story to have him start out as a monster and turn into a bigger monster.

As for the people saying Hayden came of as whiner, he said that is what he wanted Hayden to do. He wanted a whinny pain in the a** teenager, because alot of teenagers are whinny pains in the a**. His words not mine. He wanted Anakin in Clones to come of as spoiled arragont kid who wanted things the way he wanted and didn't want to listen to what anyone telling him that he couldn't have what he wanted.

I think in Sith he has grown matured, but still can't handle change to well and wants to power to make things the way he thinks they should be like. Mainly his wife not being dead but also he wants to bring peace and saftey to the Republic, at any cost.

I agree. The Ewoks sucked but the scenes between Vader, Luke and the Emperor were great. The space scenes were great too.

The stuff with Jabba was cool also. I just liked to much of Jedi to not like it just because of the Ewoks.

Now with Episode I, there was just to much Jar Jar. It was like he was the main character and I couldn't handle him. I think I could have handled him better if he had a much smaller part. When Sith comes out on DVD, I will watch all six in order once, just to get the whole story, but after that I could see me skipping Episode I and start with Clones.

My decision to critique Star Wars honestly, instead of simply gushing over it like a fan boy, is something I'll have to learn to cope with, I guess.

Bantachips! Do you understand the term cliffhanger? Pinpoint for me, if you would, the cliffhanger at the end of the original film. Obviously there wasn't one. While the other movies were told in serial fashion (Lucas' words, not mine), episode two was the one that felt less like a movie that could stand on its own and more like a connecting piece between the beginning and concluding episodes of the first trilogy.

There were Ewoks and Jar Jar and endlessly boring parlimentary meetings and painfully stilted dialogue between Anakin and Padme, but those light sabres are sooooo coooool.

The opening crawl comes straight from the old Flash Gordon series. Do they all have cliffhanger like Han getting frost bite, no. I mean every reviewer under the sun will tell you that they are Lucas' tribute to those old SciFi series of the 30's. You don't have to be a fan boy to know this, just read one interview of Lucas and it will be one of the first things he talks about.

I feel like I would be terribly motivated to see it, but I'm simply not, despite the theatre is three blocks away and it should be much calmer. Maybe it was the pathetic Return of the Clones, or the fact that it's pretty easy to know what Lucas had to do to weave his story together into something semi coherent. I still might go just to enjoy a big screen presentation, but then again, it will be out on DVD soon anyway.

Tell me Jar Jar isn't in it and I'll consider it.

You see Jar Jar twice for about a total of 2 seconds.

BTW, Baja

$200 million in 8 days according to boxofficemojo.com. Tied with Spiderman 2 for the fastest to reach the 200 million mark. What was that about it going to bomb at the box office?

Its worth seeing on a big screen just for the battle scenes between these incredible space ships. That can't be duplicated on DVD.

Well all I can say is I hope you are Lucas' cabana boy and get to share in the wealth that you seem so very proud of.

It's sad that Lucas caved in to the people who hated Jar Jar. He was annoying in Phantom Menace, but he was actually a key character in Clones because Palpatine tricked him into making a motion to give the Chancellor emergency powers. I defended Jar Jar's place in the saga after Clones. However, he has turned into a COMPLETELY irrelevant character. Oh well...

That is for Friday ONLY and it is only behind by a couple hundred grand. Plus it made 15 million dollars on what it's 10th or 12th day and it was Longest Yards first day.

Even if he was a popular I don't think he would have had a big role in Sith. Because all minor charactors such as C3PO and R2 D2 had even smaller roles, because the story was more or less about Obi Won and Anakin. Plus unlike Yoda, he is not in the classic trilogy and so he didn't have any plot line to set up, like Yoda. I guess some little kids might want to know what happened to him, but I could care less.

None the less it's still a remake of a B movie that beat it and with minimal advertising behind it too.
