Default slap in the face

i would like to know what tatum bell is thinking about the clarett pick...

becuase the way i see it, he could look at it one of two ways...

1. insulted--shanahan doesnt think i can stay healthy, and doesnt see me as the long term back here in denver.

2. driven--MS is bringing in some depth to push me...make me better. bring a more diverse backfield to denver

i hope he sees it as #2, but thats not the way i view it...i dont think you take a flyer in round 3 on a guy you want only as a backup. i really like tatum, and hopes he is our back of the future...i hope clarett proves himself, and then we trade him for a first day pick...just dreaming into the future here.

nah, Tatum knows that is how the Broncos work. i expected Denver to pick up a RB as Shanny always does for Depth. this isnt a personal vendetta against Tatum but i just dont like the player they picked up and when.

Tatum shouldn't even be concerned. Clarett will be a 3rd down/short yardage/red zone guy. There's no way he starts.

I do not think TB is concerned at all, if anything he will come to camp with a chip on his shoulders and work harder than before and become a better player because of it.

Did TD feel slapped in the face when the Broncos took Gary in the 4th round after TD went for 2000 yards? Probably not. It's just part of the game.

The point is that whoever is the Broncos starting RB should rent and not buy.

Maybe CP and RD were smart to go after the money, seeing how RBs on the Broncos don't last long.

i just dont see it working out...

if clarett comes in and plays well, he is going to complain about playing time, saying that he deserves to start... then that puts shanny between a rock and a hard place.

tatum could be a long term back...

Nope, it puts Clarett in the dog house. 3rd round picks don't have the right to complain about anything. He's lucky to be on the roster. The Broncos won't have much invested in him, so it will be easy to cut him if he is a problem.

What has Tatum Bell done in the NFL anyway to feel insulted about any personnel move the Broncos make? He has 396 career rushing yards. Granted, I love his future and I think he will push 1500 yards with a high 4 to low 5 average but his ego right now should be the least of this board's concerns.

Clarett has talent, he showed that at OSU, and was very good in his interview. I could care less what TaterTot thinks. First thing he did was hold out and get injured repeatedly. It's just surprising that we picked him up late 3rd, but maybe Dayne looks like a bag of crap. It certainly doesn't guarantee Dayne or even Mike Anderson a spot.

Exactly, this is just to get them to perform during preseason.

with all the injuries we had last season ,we need depth and players to step in at any given time .Last season proved you can never have enough depth.

Tatum should take Clarett's knees out with a crowbar.
