a couple posters have wanted a seperate thread to discuss the picks that have come down. Certainly a few have been controversial. Go at it.

Mock i still dont see how you didnt swipe a WR with one of those two picks. You dont have another selection till round 3!

Although it probably will not happen like that cause i believe the bears or the bucs will draft a RB if not both of them. It was just a wierd way the draft went down maybey it was just to cut mock off j/k but seeriously who knows.

I planned on moving back down and had a buyer but it was moving so slow I decided to kick start it. The buyer came late. Honestly, I got two great players. Brown is a beast and I believe that James got worn down and knicked up late last year. Was he worth an 8? I dunno. Like I said, the plan was to move down to around 14 and pick up that second. There I could have my pick of a DE, WR or TE and recoup a second rounder nicer than I had. I just got sick of it going so slow and decided to make two top ten picks and let it go at that.
If someone wants to trade on either pick, just let me know. I consider Brown the #2 pick in the draft and James top 10 and the best end available. |

I like what Arizona (BFDD) is doing so far with 4 second and 2 third round picks. With a weaker first round this year and a lot of guys bunched together talent-wise, I think any team would be making a decent gamble doing this in real life. If Minnesota had picks #7 & #8 they'd probably go in a different direction than Mock, but kudos to Mock for admitting that he was trying to get this thing moving at a faster pace, which it certainly has now. Tennessee and their GM didn't deserve as good a pick as Antrel Rolle. At least Ratboy could have went to Universal instead of Disney. ![]() |

Realistically, All Minnesota has to do is pick up the phone and sign Burress if this scenario would play out. I tried to move up to #5 several times to get Edwards several times and probably should of, but giving up my 18 and second and third didn't seem that great a deal. There wasn't alot of trade interest, but I got a couple nibbles after I allready picked.
Like I said, rights to Ronnie Brown and James are still available. You can still trade your pick. Anyone want a 233 pound back, low miles that runs a 4.4 and can both block and recieve and was considered the #2 pick my consensus? |

Yeah a few head scratchers here.. Maybe a few ppl are just having fun and goofing around I dunno?
![]() Ii figured the skins would go CB as long as Rolle or Jones was left. With them losing Bailey then Smoot in back to back years. |

Wow, Matt Roth over David Pollack? Interesting choice.
I think Erasmus James was taken a bit high, but you can't complain too much about getting the best DE on the board if that's what you need. |

i too was a little surprised by the Roth pick. i thought Saul was going to go for Carlos Rogers, the CB from Auburn. I was a little worried he might take the guy i was targetting for the Saints, LB Kevin Burnett but i was relieved when he passed on him. I was going to give away my third to move up just a few spaces to outflank the Chiefs on Burnett but thankfully he fell to 16. If Kevin wasnt there i would try my best to move down and if i didnt get a deal id take Travis Johnson right there.

I didnt realy think from pick 11-20 anyone would grab A. Smith (utah), was suprised that he made it this far. I planned on grabbing him if he made it to 20 but that didnt happen so i had to go with plan b. So far my draft is looking pretty good cause i heard the Cowboys had the offer sheet signed on Howard just working out the trade terms now (not sure how acurate just got this off cowboy boards while looking around and checking out there team). I got Merriman to be my pass rushing OLB (T. Suggs style) since they are going 3-4 next year. And had to get Clayton cause..well....they just needed him.

As much as I like him and want to homer the Vols up, I dont see him being taken before N.O.'s pick at 16. |

Matt Roth has a great motor and great work ethic, and he is a real character guy. We wanted a DE, and Pollack didn't do it for us. We also watched Erasmus James work out, and quite frankly, we were dissapointed.
I was torn between Rogers or Pollack, but I believe with our signing of a FA CB (before the draft) will give us adequate depth in the secondary. Also with the "new" rules in the NFL, we believe a rookie CB will not come in contribute like a good pass rushing DE will. |

Ravens taking a CB? McCalister and Samari Rolle are there, no need for a nickelback pick-up in round 1.
Maybe get another WR to complement Mason(Troy Williamson), or take Channing Crowder to replace Ed Hartwell. |

Baltimore taking a corner in round 1 is certainly the biggest head scratcher of this draft thus far.

Matt Roth is on Clear and Creme. He's a head scratcher.
