At least THR didn't completely misidentify the Broncos' top need like they do most years. But Shazor over Bullocks and no OL in the entire draft? Not going to happen.

Yeah I think the computer takes team needs into consideration when it makes the pick. I agree with the Shazor thing but what can you do.

I for one do not see DT as a need area anymore. Warren has never been a bad DT just average. It is just after spending the #3 OA pick on a guy you do not want avg. He is not really a health risk and we picked up another guy for the rotation in Myers. We at most will keep 10 DL guys and I believe that 8 are locks already. I know that WArren is a one year stop gap, unless he really likes Denver (and wants to stay with Patterson). I think he will have his best year yet and will be resigned next year.

What we need is a G, OT, Big WR and maybe another G. I do not think we need to draft a CB as I would prefer to sign a Vet for the nickle and see how Shoate does there this year.

This draft would blow as it would give us three more bodies on the Dline competing for 1 spot and would leaves us really thin on the Oline.

They almost managed to get the 2 Alex Smiths back to back - the QB at 33 (right!) and the TE at 35.

Shazor's stock has slipped considerably. If the Broncs want him, they may be able to get him with one of their comp picks at the end of round 3. 2nd round is too high for him.

I have to agree that no O-lineman at all is completely unrealistic.

I'm no draft whizz, but speculating on exact players taken by 32 teams across seven rounds is a little silly...fun...but silly

I read an article in ESPN Magazine a while back claiming NO ONE has ever correctly predicted the entire FIRST ROUND

I guess I can see some computer mock-up predicting purely for need, but when did need ever stop anyone from making all kinds of brain dead picks..including our very own, beloved Mike Shanahan

I didn't even notice that. The QB Smith isn't going to last until the middle of the 1st if he starts to slip. I'm sure there's a dozen teams who would move ahead of GB, who somehow passes on him too, to grab him.

So the 9ers have indicated that they opened negotiations with Smith, Rodgers, and
Edwards for the overall #1....yet somehow they jump over to Ronnie Brown? Not going to happen IMHO.

Its a COMPUTER DRAFT! It doesn't factor things in like that.

I will be furious if Denver does not take Mathis at 97 if he is still available and the Patriots get him at 100 right in front of the second comp. pick. Shazor in the second is highly unlikely with Browner as A FS or Bullocks available still. Would still like Cody in round one.

1 49ERS RB Ronnie Brown Auburn
33 49ERS QB Alex Smith Utah

Great draft for the 49ers, who considered using #1 on Alex Smith.

I'm not that sure about either QB at #1 either.

Ronnie Brown is the real deal. Just because he played second fiddle to Caddilac doesn't mean he's second string.

He's just getting warmed up. Brown is the closest thing to Tomlinson in this draft. It would take someone like Mike Nolan to possibly screw up that kid...hey wait a second...

Caddilac allready has high miles, but also is a can't miss player. As far as backing up Caddilac, I remember some player backing up Ricky Williams at Texas...Bob the Information Minister might know his name.
