Welcome to the Orange Mane Survivor II Thread - KING of the MOUNTAIN
Rules: No prize for winning, except for bragging rights and personal enmity. Each round, each of our 14 active contestants may PM me with one vote to kick one other contestant off the "mountain." Not every round will be based on voting. Later in the game, there may be other challenges to determine who stays and who goes. RULE #1. I can change any rule any time I want, without notice to anyone. I am in charge. My assistant is Olddudetheyounger, who should be treated with the utmost pandering and respect because, in the event that I am not available to run a round or answer a question to resolve a dispute, he will be in charge. He is also crazy as a loon, however, so let's hope we don't need him too often. TheDave has been assigned by the network to act as our color commentator. TheDave, however, is not in charge of anything, and should not be trusted with confidential information by the players, because he may well barter the information for booze or broads or whatever he does in his spare time. And don't bother pestering him for inside info. He may get some, but I doubt he'll be able to understand it, let alone pass it on accurately. RULE #2. Lifelines. In this game, getting voted off the Mountain does not automatically end your chance of winning. Anyone voted off the mountain goes from "active" status to "Dangling by a Thread" status, so long as they have a "Lifeline" to another player who is still "active" and on the mountain. If you are voted off AFTER your "Lifeline" has already been kicked off (or is himself dangling by a thread) then you are WELL AND TRULY DEAD AND CANNOT WIN although you may be able to get some measure of revenge later in the game as a member of the jury. Each of you will be secretly PMd by me, over the next few hours, with the identity of the person to whom your Lifeline is attached. Please be aware that Lifelines may or may not be reciprocal. In other words, just because you have a Lifeline attached to Player X, that does not mean that Player X has his lifeline attached to you. In fact, the chances are that he doesn't. The importance of "Lifelines" is this. Once we get deep into the game - down to just two or three active players left on the Mountain, I will check the active players and see who has Lifelines attached to them. Those few lucky persons will be hauled back up into active status and restored to the competition with a full chance of winning it. Please note, however, that Lifelines are not 100% failproof. There may well be a round or two in the game where one or more Lifelines may be involuntarily severed. If you are dangling by one of those when it is cut ... look out below. RULE #3. Voting. All voting will be in PMs to me, unless I have designated Olddudetheyounger as the guest host for that particular round, in which case you PM your votes to him. Unlike the previous edition of Orange Mane Survivor, you will not be automatically disqualified if you fail to vote, or if you vote for an invalid target, or if you miss a deadline. Instead, in this game, in the case of a missed vote or a screwed up one, you will be deemed to have voted for yourself that round, and the "self-inflicted wound" will be treated just like any other. In cases of tie votes, the first tiebreaker will be self-inflicted wounds. Whoever has done that the most will be put out of their misery. Persons who are "dangling by a thread" are not entitled to vote (unless and until they have been hauled back up the mountainside) Nor can they be voted against. RULE #4. I WILL NOT ACCEPT "PROXY" VOTES OR "CONDITIONAL" VOTES. These will be treated as "invalid votes" and will be counted as a vote against yourself. (A "proxy" vote is saying that "I'm going to vote the same way as PLayer X," or "PLayer X will cast my vote this round." etc.) (A conditional vote is saying, "I am going to vote against Player X unless ... etc. ) RULE #5. I will not accept "fractional" votes. You cannot cast 1/2 a vote against X and 1/2 a vote against Y. RULE #6 DAYLIGHT AND BLACKOUT ROUNDS - - Each round will be pre-designated as either a "Daylight " round or a "blackout" round. Blackouts can be due to darkness or storms. At the end of a daylight round, I will post the results of the PM voting. I will post who got knocked off to "dangling by a thread"status and anyone who is WELL AND TRULY DEAD. I will also post a breakdown of the voting so that every person (including the audience) can see who every other person voted for that round. In "blackout"rounds, the breakdown will only include the number of votes each person received - - not the particular identities of the persons who cast those votes. Thus, if you are intending to pull off a major backstab of an ally, the blackout rounds are a good time to do it. I can tell you in advance that Rounds ONE, THREE and FIVE will be Blackout rounds. RULE #7 CONTRACT KILLS. In the course of the game, players can earn "extra" votes. You can use your extra votes in any subsequent round when voting is allowed. You can cast them right away, or you can save them for a rainy day. You earn extra votes as follows. Each person will be secretly assigned two other persons as "contract kills." I will PM each of you with your randomly selected contract targets within a couple hours of this opening post. If one of your targets is knocked off the mountain (and delegated to dangling status) you earn one extra vote. (Think of it as an extra "bullet" for future use.) In order to earn this vote, you must have been one of the persons whose vote knocked the victim off the mountain. If you satisfy that condition then you will be awarded another extra vote if and when that person loses their Lifeline and becomes WELL AND TRULY DEAD whether or not you had anything to do with voting off their Lifeline buddy. Obviously, if a person has already lost their lifeline buddy when you knock them off, they immediately die the true death, and you earn both extra votes at once. Since you each have two contract targets, and because it is possible to earn two votes for each one, you could stockpile up to four extra votes. If and when you earn extra votes, I will PM you prvately to advise you about that. No one else wll know unless you tell them. Note that blackout rounds can be a good time to use your extra votes, since no one will usually know the source. RULE #8 There is no Rule #8. Rule #7 killed #8 pursuant to a contract. RULE #9 Game conduct. Bluffing, ridicule, taunting, etc. are all allowed, but use common sense. Don't post private info about people such as their addresses or real life affairs or out of bounds language. If things get out of hand, I will take steps. RULE #9 Have fun, and don't take it too seriously. 13 of you are doomed to go down as big fat losers. It's all about the ratings. There can be only one KING OF THE MOUNTAIN. And now, let's meet our brave cast of participants: 1. Anubis_Zyklon 2. baja fan 3. BizzyBone7 4. CBF1 5. ClarettNextTD 6. Denverfan4life 7. Faderproof 8. Hotrod 9. MajikMan7 10. missingnumber7 11. Ratboy 12. Ray Finkle 13. TD30 14. ZachKC Within the next two hours, I will PM each of you with the names of the person your secret lifeline is attached to, as well as your two contract-kill targets. VOTING MAY BEGIN AT ANY TIME. VOTES FOR ROUND ONE ARE DUE BY NOON, MOUNTAIN TIME, FRIDAY. Let the games begin ... Last edited by Old Dude; 04-13-2005 at 05:49 PM.. |

Survivor 2 kicks off…
Everyday on the streets I’m asked “how does it feel to play OM Survivor” my answer is always the same “I never played the game…I just won it”. The blank stares and turned up lips tell me all I need to know… This is not a game, but a feat of cunning and survival in the truest sense. A time where man, beast, and Costco Lube find a way to co-exist while the very thread of your existence hangs in the balance… A balancing act that few can manage and only one can win. My time on the island was long, hard, and often painful… but was it worth it? Would I do it again? Depends how much Survivor All-Stars pays (god knows it would need to be more than this $hit ass job). Today we start the journey once again! Cause today 14 no-life, numb nuts that should all be putting in an honest days work will instead shunt all responsibility and begin their quest on a remote “virtual” mountain top where the most sacred competition in the annals of history will take place …. OM Survivor…. This has been TheDave for Survivor Network... |

All of the secret info has now been PMd to the contestants. You should each have a PM from me listing your Lifeline anchor and your two contract kill targets.
If you don't have it, PM me asap. |

Turns out Rule 8 wasn't dead after all - - just dangling from a thread.
Rule 8 - TIEBREAKERS In the event that two or more persons are tied for votes, the person to be kicked off will be determined by the following tiebreakers: 1. Most self-inflicted wounds. (most prior missed votes, invalid votes, etc., including the round in question) 2. Most prior votes against (ie most prior "wounds" of any sort- - not including the current round) - - This will obviously not apply in Round One. 3. The last person (of those who are tied) in the round in question to have submitted their vote to me. (Sometimes it pays to be quick on the draw). |
