Denver is not going to take a DE in the first round after picking up 4 or 5 in the offseason. that is my only gripe about this.

I was going to place Mark Clayton there, but I dunno I feel we can never have enough DE's on this team anymore.

As much as I love Carlos Rogers, he wont go 8th. In fact, his ex-teammate at AU, the "Cadi" could wind up there.

i've been cheering for david pollack, but with all the guys we have now, i just don't know anymore. still wanna say DL because of all the questions with injuries, but we will probably pick another CB in Justin Miller. would love to see us go up to minnesota's 7 for Mike Williams, but that's not going to happen. i really don't think we are going to go WR with first after picking Watts last year. he dropped a few critical catches, but broncos are really high on him.

Barrett Ruud is a decent pick, if a little high, but I think our screaming need is more at outside linebacker than inside. Word out of Raiderville is that we're going to see a lot more 4-3 and there's no way Ruud is going to beat Clark out of that job. At that spot, I'd have rather seen (based on who was still available) Antajj Hawthorne, Justin Tuck, Daryl Blackstock, or Marlin Jackson.

I hate that Komeautu went off the board one pick ahead of us in round 3. Don't particularly like the Canty pick but it's hard to argue against taking a defensive lineman. Still, he's not a pass-rusher and that's what the Raiders are dying for. I wouldn't mind the pick in the 4th round, but given that he hurt his knee last year, I don't like him on day one. I'd have rather seen Incognito, Perkins, Pouha, or even Jovan Haye.

In round 4, I don't mind the Junior Rosegreen pick (though I like Kerry Rhodes who went later in the round better). I also wouldn't have minded Adrian McPherson, Anthony Bryant, or Lance Mitchell. In fact, I think Lance Mitchell is a steal in the 4th.

When you get down into round 6, it's a total crap shoot, so I don't have much comment... except to say that the Raiders just renegotiated Zack Crockett, re-signed Chris Heatherington, and signed Rob Konrad. I don't see them bringing Zack Tuiasosopo aboard.

With virtually every DL on the team having their contract expire after '05 or '06, yes they are.

we are gonna cut some people to make room for the rooks then. who are we going to cut this year? trevor/brown/warren/ekuban are locks. mike myers? only healthy player we received? you wanna cut the incumbents who gave us what, #5 defense last year? i want us to pick a DL, but that's just a lot to ask for.

Elliss? Coleman? Fatefehi? Are you serious that these guys are somehow safe? The latter two blow and the former can't stay healthy and is over 30. The DL on this team is still not that good.

dude, i agree! but they go out of their ways to sign these players, even though they give half ass practice, half ass input during a game! what, you gonna place your first and second round picks on practice squad?

These guys are signed to 1 year minimum base salary contracts. There's a reason why they got deals that are that long for that little amount of money.

No DE in first round. I'm guessing one of two senarios. Denver grabs the best available cb with the 25 pick. or they trade down and get the best G available.

it better be a base salary. but it's not the money issue with these guys. they each take up a roster spot. that's my problem.

If we're saying no DE in the 1st round because of who is there, than it's not happening with corner either. It's the youngest position on the team by far. They're not going to continually add more and more unproven players to a group that hasn't been given a chance to prove itself.

Does a roster spot even mean anything before the final cutdown?

They aren't that good.

The only locks are the Browns, Pryce, and maybe Ray Lee Johnson. There's probably 4 DL spots up for grabs.
