Former CU buff Jonathan Kaye is leading in the very early portion of round 1.

I freaking love this golf tournament, it's the best one in my book.

Oh crap, with all the hype here at DU about the hockey game I completely forgot it started today.

I'll have to start flipping back and forth I guess.

Billy Casper's 1st round yesterday has me motivated to go out and hack the **** out of the ball.

Ouch Billy!

Nothing can define the aging process like this round.

I'm beginning to think that Nicklaus' 18 majors will never be touched. At least, I don't think Tiger will be doing it.

Wow…talk about déjà vu…I said the same thing in the masters vbookie thread just now

I thought it was a given after the “tiger slam” a few years ago, Tiger would beat Jack in major wins….but now

Nope…don’t think so

Jack was/is the greatest golfer ever.

and Tiger is close to my age...I just like Jack better

Really...he isn't very old.

I'm don't know very much about him other then he is a stud, but how old is he and how many has he won?

29 and he has won 6 majors

So say he is effective till age 45 (the way he swings I doubt it)

He has to win about 1 a year…….a little less, but I doubt he is effective till the age of 45

Oh...I thought he had won more then that. Yeah I can see the reason for some of the doubting. His own success may cause his early decline...in that younger golfers will be coming out sooner and challenging him and causing the older golfers to become better themselves to keep up.

Your exactly right…there are kids out there now days that hit the ball as far as him and they are younger, plus Vijay and Phil and the rest have uped their game lately.

He is going to be great….but not Jack great

He's actually won 8(3masters, 2 us opens, 1 british open and 2 PGA's. It is definatly reachable if he gets back to how he once played but the competitors are a little better now than a few years ago.
