Default Patrick Surtain to Chefs???

Cornerback Mario Edwards didn't take long to find a new NFL home. The Pascagoula native signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins, team officials announced this week. Terms were not disclosed.
Edwards is expected to fill the departure of former Southern Miss standout Patrick Suratin. THE DOLPHINS ARE WORKING OUT A DEAL FOR THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TO ACQUIRE SURTAIN.
Edwards played last year with the Tampa Bay Bucs after spending his first four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He graduated from Pascagoula in 1995, and played at Florida State from 1996 - 2000.

Fortunately the Chiefs realize they had one of the worst pass defenses in the league and are attempting to fix it...I am much happier with that approach than if they did something like trade for a complete D Line that finished dead last in the league against the rush.

Chokes don't want to give up their second for him like the phins want. Chokes can't give up their 3rd...but they'll most likely part with a 4th. Phins won't do it. Chokes have a deal in place with (un)Surtain. I'll bet that he doesn't end up there...and if he does...he'll get abused...because corners don't matter anymore. And the Choke d-line is still pathetic which is where the need new players...not their secondary. But that my opinion.

uh yeah...having the worst defense in the league two years running is something to hang your hat on.

It's still early and the broncos offseason moves might be desperate, but so far the chief offseason is down right puzzling.

They probably would like to have him, but a deal can be done without him.

I bet you wish you had a backup as good as Priest

But they didn't rank dead last in the AFC in total defense! Please tell everyone who holds that distinction please!! And the answer is.......

What is so puzzling about it? They brought in a top safety, a top linebacker, added some quality depth at DE and still plan on paying for a top CB...Sounds like a team trying make a substantial upgrade to a very poor defense to me, not puzzling at all....Now trading and signing the complete defensive lines that was one of the worst in football last year is very puzzling no matter how you look at it.

especially when you already have a "shut down" corner (however he did get owned by Kennison), you would think a shut down d line would be next.

Unless you are a Broncos fan.

Sounds like Taco has done some high quality spinning as of late.

Sounds like you're wearing red and yellow glasses. These guys are upgrades for you, but they carry baggage as well. Bell is a head case, failed a physical with the Giants, and was just about kicked out of Pittsburgh. Don't act like you just picked up Ray Lewis. Knight is good, but nothing special. The Surtain deal isn't done yet and KC will probably give up more than they care to in order to get him (2nd rounder and a contract extension). And Hall is not even good enough to have been traded from Cleveland to Denver.

I disagree. Our backs are healthy. Do you think its Priest or the O-line? I recall LJ and Blaylock running wild after Priest went down.

you call those moves substantial? Granted neither have the broncos, but come on... bwahahaha...

anyway, it's still early.

When your backup FB gains 1240 in a dozen starts, it's probably not going to be that hard to find a similar level of production from someone else.
