If it were 2001 it would seem our D-Line would be unstoppable
DE Courtney Brown (1 year removed of a #1 pick DT Gerard Warren (#3 overall pick in that years draft) DT Luther Ellis (Pro Bowl DT) DE Trevor Pryce (Pro Bowler himself) 4 years too late i guess ![]() |

Well we'll just have to wait til September to see how they perform. All the armchair coaches can analyze it over and over and try to convince one another that they know the answers. Alot of folks were complaining that we weren't active early in the FA market. Well here you go. Plenty of new FAs to b**** about.

Thing is, its really easy to poke holes in what the Broncos have done this offseason, but what I really, really want to hear from the people who think these moves suck is exactly what they would have done instead?
Pay Reggie that 7 mil AND keep Trevor on his 9mil cap figure? Only rudimentary arithmetic is required to see that there were no easy options. If we just get decent players then the whole thing has been worthwhile becuase we've added to our rotation. Yet almost all of the aquisitions have enormous upside that provides a chance that in our top-5 defense (try not to forget that) they could start to shine. No-one held a gun to Andre Patterson's head and FORCED him to sing the praises of Warren and Brown. He's had two years with them, watching them closely and sizing them up and he's jumping up and down for Denver to sign them. I know I will be dismissed as the crazy, Naive, Shanny-tinted-glasses fan that I am, but now the dust has settled I have a nice warm feeling about next year's D-line. I think (as always) injuries will be the biggest factor. If we get some good luck on that score, we might surprise everybody. |

I love the way the Broncos have adjusted to situations they shouldn't be in in the first place. I hate the way the press always has a microphone up a coach's butt when they in fact have nothing of substnace to say other than "we don't know either" in all the various flavors of that. I love the way that Coyer is willing to work with junk parts, nothing, and trash but is going to make this Charity Ward into a strong defense. I hate the way the way Coyer craps in his pants when he talks about the other teams in the AFCW. I love the way that no matter what changes happen some of the posters here are totally inflexible with stupid demands, threats, and tirades. I hate the way Plummer is idolized and hated because he's just Jake. This is has been a love and hate kind of off season. It's too early to decide the entire fate of the season. We've got the draft, Free agency, pre season and then the first four games of the season before we can see what kind of Broncos we really have. I love the Broncos. Do with that what you want. |
