He had superb agility drills. I saw him play quite a bit when I was in Florida, he was really dominant for Georgia. Really disruptive, high motor type with a good anchor. He's pretty low built. He wouldn't be the first attention whore in the NFL for sure.

From Pro Football Talk:
POLLACK PISSES OFF SCOUTS A league source tells us that the scouting community has been buzzing about the behavior of Georgia defensive end/linebacker David Pollack at the Bulldogs' Pro Day workout on March 22. Pollack, we're told, didn't actually work out, but he attended the session and strutted around, as one scout said, "like he was running for mayor." Pollack also had a stopwatch around his neck, and was calling out the times of each of his former Bulldog teammates as they ran the 40-yard dash -- as if none of the other scouts had their own stop watches . . . and as if anyone cared what Pollack thought the numbers were. Needless to say, Pollack's behavior and perceived arrogance didn't go over well with the scouts in attendance. Look for him to fall completely out of round one in next month's draft. |

I still think that Pollack (character and all... hell, especially character) is what the Broncos need up front. He's still my number one pick.

POLLACK'S STOCK STILL HIGH?
In response to our Wednesday night story regarding the fact that Georgia linebacker/defensive end David Pollack pissed out many scouts at the Bulldogs' Pro Day workout on Tuesday, we heard from a key league source who attended the workout. And the league source was candid in his assessment. "[Y]our report on Pollack is absurd. True, he didn’t do anything in terms of running forties/jumps/shuttles. The reason was that, unlike most of the other premier players, he did everything at Indy. Not only that, but his times at Indy (6.88 3-cone, 3.90 short shuttle, 37" vertical, 4.75 forty) are absolutely terrific and put him at the top of his position, whether as a 'backer or end. "On top of that, he worked out at his workout the other day as first, a defensive lineman, then as a linebacker. Basically, he did two 15-minute position workout for the coaches. And he looked great. . . . I can assure you that there is absolutely no possible way that he’ll get out of the first round." The source concluded by explaining that, in his view, our information from Wednesday "came from a scout who graded Pollack too low in the Fall and is now trying to justify his grade to save face." Or it could be that some scouts are hoping that Pollack will still be around in the bottom of the first round when their teams draft. Anyway, we've now put both sides out there and, as usual, no one will know how any team really feels about Pollack until some team writes his name on a sheet of paper and passes it to the podium. |

MORE POOP ON POLLACK
We've recently heard two very different opinions regarding the performance of Georgia linebacker/defensive end David Pollack at last week's Pro Day workout, and regarding his general perception among league scouts. We've now picked up some more info from a league insider for whom we have a great deal of respect, who work for a team that by all appearances does not have a need for Pollack's services. "Pollack is the most overrated player in the draft," said the source. "He has a great motor and great instincts, but he has short arms and is not and does not player with power. "I have seen him crushed on a number of plays. I think he will be a good pro but not a great pro. I would never take him in the first. The team that drafts him will find out that he is average at best. "As far as character, what I have found out is he is a first class a-hole. He is very arrogant. He is respected by his teammates but not liked. What you described in your first article was right on. . . ." Our first article (scroll down for more) depicted Pollack as acting like a jerk at the workout, calling out the 40 times of his former teammates and generally acting like he thinks his poop isn't putrid. Our second article came from a guy from whom we also have a great deal of respect, who painted a very different picture of Pollack. The lesson here is this. Picking players is a very subjective business, and every team has different factors to consider. Some teams care more about measurables, some teams care more about attitude. And Pollack is a prime example of how reasonable minds in the scouting community will differ on a given player. |

My opinion's always been similar to this last post: if you focus on just the positive things you hear about the prospects, you'll likely want to sign everyone. If you focus on just the negatives, you won't want to touch anyone.
There are few, if any, players in this draft (not to mention every draft) that everyone likes and would be willing to risk a first-rounder on. If you dig deep enough, there is something to give one pause about all of them. |

We ARE talking about pick #25 here, not a top ten or even 20. Give me a break. I have seen the kid play, and all he does is dominate from that spot. He slots at #25 just fine thank you very much.
First Class a-hole. Didn't we have one of those and win a SuperBowl or 2? |
