Woo Hoo... an actual legitimate lead blocking FB! This draft will now be entirely defense with the exception of a G.

We have Kyle Johnson, Mike Anderson, and Reuben Droughns. I would have liked to have picked up the guy myself but at what cost? I hate that the Raiders got him because apparently they are intent on actually getting it right this time.
If you guys are willing to concede the season please mail your tickets to me so that I can pass them around to all my friends. I'm sure they won't mind filling your seats for you. |

i dont know what is going on Eddie Mac, i think they might be focusing all their time right now at the owner's meeting at working out a deal for Trevor to Dallas and working on the Courtney Brown front. They were going to trade for Konrad and now he is on the market but they didnt bite. I dont think its a big need really, i like kyle johnson, but the fact remains the organization was interested in this guy but now they dont care about him anymore i guess.

I just don't think an over the hill fullback who cannot block would be of interest to the Broncs right now.

Rob Konrad is a stiff.
Denver usually requires more of the fullback than just blocking ability. Ever see the guy try to run and/or catch? No biggie. |

I like the way Kyle Johnson played last year. We have RD back, but will he be happy playing fullback after a offseason clamoring to be the starting running back.

Not necessarily ( or exactly) Konrad, but I've been missing a true FB since Howard Griffith hung them up.

Let's think about Miami's running game of late. You think if the guy had any running ability they'd be showing him the door? He's always sucked. |

The guy was Ricky Williams' lead blocker... behind a horrible offensive line, I might add... and now Big Guy's saying he can't block?
As for his receiving, when we've got Moss, Porter, Curry, and Jordan on the field, I'd just as soon NOT see a lot of swing passes to the Fullback, thank you very much. Having said that, he's twice had seasons of 30+ receptions. To put that in perspective, Mike Anderson has NEVER had a season with 30+ receptions - and that includes when he was the starting running back. Reuben Droughns has only done it one time - last year, when he played half the year as featured back. In fact, Rob Konrad has more receiving yards... and more receptions... than Mike Anderson and Reuben Droughns COMBINED!. But now you're saying that the guy can't catch? Come on, now... And he's "over the hill?" This will be the dude's 7th year in the league. He came in one year ahead of Droughns... are you saying that after this year, Droughns is "over the hill?" Come on, people... why not just give credit where it was due and say that the Raiders got a good player at a good price? |

Nice try, Tred, but I'm not "loving him without regard." I'm merely offering a fact based argument in the face of you hating him without regard by presenting facts that directly counter your statements.
You said: "Denver usually requires more of the fullback than just blocking ability. Ever see the guy try to run and/or catch?" My reply was to point out that the guy has better numbers than either of your two fullbacks in the specific area that you criticized WHILE COMPARING HIM TO DENVER'S FULLBACKS. I'm not trying to beat you up over it, Tred, but your statement is just indefensibly wrong. If you don't like the guy, that's fine. I don't like Tom Nalen... but that doesn't mean I'm right if I said that the guy couldn't block his way out of paper sack, you know? |
