The Arizona Cardinals have been selected as the NFC recipient of the “2005 Pop Warner NFL Team of the Year” for their commitment to the development of youth football in the Arizona area. The award is presented annually to two clubs in the NFL - one from each conference - that have demonstrated commitment and support of Pop Warner Little Scholars both locally and nationally.

Throughout 2004, the Cardinals made extra efforts to collaborate with the Arizona Youth Football Federation Pop Warner league using Gatorade Junior Training Camps, player appearances, charitable contributions, and also provided tickets to various Pop Warner teams for Cardinals home games.

The Cardinals, along with the AFC recipient Kansas City Chiefs, will receive their award at the Pop Warner Scholar All-American Banquet on Saturday, May 28 at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Orange County, CA.

This marks the second time in the last three seasons that the Cardinals have been recognized by the national organization. In 2003 Vice President and General Counsel Michael Bidwill was awarded the Glenn S. “Pop” Warner Award for his support of youth sports in Arizona.

No, this thread is a marvelous case in point. Your thread title leads to believe one thing while the substance of the article points to something quite different. No matter how you look at it though, your NFL team is screwed, you should probably start supporting the Pop Warner team. And the good news is that you don't have to take out a third mortgage on your trailer to buy tickets to the Pop Warner games so you've got that going for you too.
