if they put Trevor on the PUP LIST, he still counts against our cap, right?
I just wish there was some way to loophole him for a year. |

Very possible, given Denver's mis-steps on contract issues of late, although i have no confirmation of that. I've heard that, after failing to land Saints DE Darren Howard, the K'boys might re-think the possibility of working out something for Pryce. I've also heard that Bowlen & Jerry Jones will talk about that at the owners meeting this next week. Seems to me fairly clear now that one of four things will happen...as discussed here at some length; One, Denver will work out a trade during the owners meetings this next week. Pryce will be dealt on...or around draft day, likely at bargain basement compensation for Denver Pryce will be released after June 1st or...and frankly the least likely, given the (sometimes waffling) comments of Sundquist, Bowlen & Shanahan, Pryce will suit up as a Bronco this season. Somehow, I get the sense that NO solution will make everyone happy, and ANY solution will likely leave a great many people very UNhappy...especially the fan base. |

Pryce has to go.
He's got the team hostage and player or not how do you ask a guy whose pissed on your leg for himself to preach and lead team? If Pryce stays I won't be surprised. |

Pryce will go to Philly and we'll swap first round picks but also pick up the E-girls early 2nd rounder. That is basically a 3rd rounder in compensation for Trevor and gives us two fairly early picks in the draft. We could end up with three players that could immediately come in and contribute. Say Josh Bullocks, DMar Ware, and Vincent Jackson with our first three picks.

I thought the idea of trading Trevor was to move up in the draft. Not down and get a second 2nd rounder. I wouldn't move down unless a player I had targeted looked lik he would slip. But 7 spots seems risky. |

At that point in the 1st in this draft, 7 spots isn't a big deal especially if Denver would be picking up another pick 3 spots later.
But that trade seems a bit much for Trev at this point. |

I dont think Andy Reid is dumb enough to go for a deal like that. If its about a 3rd rounder or 3rd equivalent we would have gotten it by now.

The Eagles aren't going to be too up for Pryce, I'd say. They have a track record of cutting their own proven veterans when they hit their late 20's instead of giving them big paydays. Why would they suddenly decide to trade for ours, when he's coming off a serious injury on top of that, they very thing they're trying to protect against by letting older guys walk.
I'd say Dallas is our best bet, but we'll be lucky to land their 2nd or 3rd rounder. I'm just hoping Sundquist and Bowlen can pull something out of their asses at the owners meetings and get a couple more teams in on the bidding. Then we might see some legitimate return. Better bring lots of copies of Pryce's most recent physical! |

Pryce's best bet is to restructure and play for the Broncos.

We might as well get used to the fact that Pryce would love nothing less than to take his paycheck this year. No team is going to anty up a 6 million dollar salary at this point, which means not a restructure, but a new contract.
Of course, that contract would be less than half what he's making just this year. Pryce might get an 8 million double tiered bonus tied to injury. Now what incentive does he have when he can pull down 9 million just this year? I also think that Pryce is scared he isn't the man he used to be, and may be hoping he can slide thru this season and call it a day. Noone really knows how that nerve is, no matter what our doctors say, Pryce knows if he has any explosion off the ball left. Pryce has never had great explosion and speed quite honestly. A great mauler yes, good swim move, relentless, but noone can say he could contain the corner on the left side DE. He just doesn't have outside speed. Teams are desperate to unload high cap salarys. Look at Cowart to Minnesota, Warren here, and several "franchise players" like Edge and Alexander. If you think that Woodson doesn't want to pick up a cool 10 million this year in Oakland your crazy. That's serious jack. So there are many things working against management, and even I believe, some of Pryce's own confidence he can still be the player he was a few years ago. He said himself that fighting double teams at DT wore him down. |

Trouble is Pryce is too smart for a football player. He realizes he is set for life financially and that football is dangerous to one's health.
I think Mock may be right he might try to squeeze one more season out of his battered body and move on to his real passion, music. |

Anyone else think we should move Pryce back to DT? We moved him to end in order to help him stay healthy and it just hasn't happened. He was a much better DT, and now that he's likely lost what speed he had due to his injury, he's really only well suited for DT.
