Default New PFT mock

4. Bears: Mike Williams, WR, USC.

We'll call it the reverse Randy effect. In 1999, the Packers loaded up on defensive backs after getting schooled by Moss. Now, with the much-improved Vikings' defensive backfield led by two Hobbit-sized corners (Fred Smoot and Antoine Winfield), the Bears will jump on a potentially dominant receiver. Although Edwards might be the better all-around player, Williams' size makes him the ideal fit to reach high over Frodo and Bilbo.

The Broncos take Ware ,who has been moving up the draft after he ran a 4.5 in his pro day. Ware would be a good pick for Broncos who already have Brown and Pryce at de. Ware could be the guy to put the heat on the qb in passing situations and make a prefect complimemt to Brown and Pryce. I still favor trading down for more draft picks to take Ware or Tuck. In the second go for Qb frye or Campbell,Wr Brown or Mathis or Og Brown or Mankins. CAstillo and Patterson would also be good picks in second

Ware was not at the workout, standing on his numbers from the combine on March 10.

On March 17, ran his 40s in 4.52 and 4.53 outside on FieldTurf in 49-degree weather. That compares well to his times of 4.57 and 4.56 at the combine. Ware also did position drills. Seven teams were there to watch him, including Texans coach Dom Capers and Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan.

Pollack, Spears, S. Cody, Hawthorne, Johnson and Roth would all make better picks in my mind. At least a couple of those will be available at 25. Ware is a one dimensional Pass rusher without any training with NFL technique. Would be a liability against the run.

Well, if Hawthorne is actually on the board at 25, he'd be a nice two gap guy to go with Warren.

Pollack is the only guy I would like to have above Ware. Denver has done very well against the run the last two years with Berry and Heyward who were not supposed to be good at all versus the run. Ware is a Football player that happens to be as gifted athletically as a Freeney or Kearse. Plus, he is 6'4" and may get to 6'5". His frame is nowhere near maxed out at his current 251 and he could go 265 hopefully this off season. Sure he would need to work on his technique, but in a rotation he could flourish as a nickel pass rusher at RDE this year. Then maybe he could develop into a full time player down the road.
