Over the last 10 years I always got PFW's, but when Joel met an early demise i decided to try a different one. On a recomendation from a friend i got the one put out by Stevensons Scouting Service (they contribute a lot to one of the offseason magazines). End result i wasn't real impressed, with it. Nothing bad, just not great.
What Draft Guides do you recommend? Last edited by TheDave; 03-16-2005 at 11:04 AM.. |

I miss Joel too. R.I.P.
I do think the draftniks were way off target with last year's stuff and how the draft actually went. It really becomes a herd mentality. They all feed off each other and wind up spouting the same thing which then becomes far removed from the consensus of the GMs actually making the selections. Better to have two or three and keep an open mind. |

I've always liked The Sporting News yearly draft guide.
You can't get the best read on the 'real' positioning of many players because so very much information is not available to the magazine when they go to publication. That, and the fact their mock draft is nothing short of awful |

TSN would be a lot better if they weren't in such a rush to put it out. If they'd at least wait until after the combine to do their write-ups, they'd be much better. As it stands, their imaginary 40 times and out of date team needs are most annoying.
Makes me wonder why I buy one every year. ![]() Last edited by Crow; 03-18-2005 at 10:42 AM.. |
