Colorado Avalanche centre Peter Forsberg left Thursday night's Swedish League playoff game with a mild concussion, but the injury is not considered serious and is not expected to keep him out of the upcoming world hockey championships. Forsberg, playing for Modo in the fourth game of their quarter-final series against Farjestads, collided with former NHLer Peter Nordstrom at the 5-minute mark of the second period. Forsberg, who returned to the Modo line-up for the first time since breaking his wrist in early February, was trying to make a hit with Nordstrom. Nordstrom put his stick up, as if to ward off the check, and caught Forsberg in the head. Forsberg went down and was lead off the ice. The initial diagnosis -- of a major concussion and a broken collarbone -- proved to be erroneous. Forsberg was expected to miss only a week, but by then, Modo could be out of the playoffs. After losing to Farjestads, they are down 3-1 in the series, which shifts back to Karlstad for Game 5 on Saturday. Forsberg was playing mostly on the fourth line in his return and had seen some power-play time. |

Every other report had the injury being caused by a check into the board.
How can "responsible" media report crap? Oh wait. Maybe it's the assumption of the words responsible and media can be linked under any circumstance. Next thing you know Peter wasn't even on the ice. |

Or someone wised up and said hey, he still might want to get one more money deal in the NHL. Shut up about the injury....

Exactly why i always wait till the dust settles on media reports to make a judgement, not saying this report is 100% truth but it is totally the other end of the spectrum about the injury. |

Honestly, the guy should not have been playing in the first place, none of those NHL f!ckers should be. They should be detailing cars down at Arnie's auto swap for christ's sake. Not that I wish the guy ill but for crying out loud, playing over here wasn't good enough, they should all stand by their decision. Damn I hate them.

Forsberg did stand by his decision. He said a long time ago he would skate for his father's team before he retired. The lockout (remember, that's what it was) gave him the opportunity.

Peter Forsberg, middle, is helped off the ice Thursday by MoDo teammate Markus Naslund, left, and a team doctor. |

Ack! Naslund! Get the hell away from our boy! After all, Pete could be faking the injury.
