First of all, Carolina releases backup QB Rutherford, Roderick. With the 14th pick, the Carolina Panthers select:
QB Alex Smith, Utah Utah's Alex Smith, a Heisman Trophy, All-America and Mountain West Player of the Year candidate, exploded on to the conference and national scene as a sophomore last year when he led Utah to a 10-2 record, its first outright conference championship in 46 years and a Liberty Bowl victory over Southern Mississippi. We believe Alex Smith can bring us the much-needed poise in a quarterback and we also believe Jake Delhomme is deteriorating. The time is 4:08 PST/5:08 MST/7:08 EST. Kansas City - Saulbadguy is now on the clock. Last edited by minibronco; 03-14-2005 at 04:13 PM.. |

I am now on the clock. Woo Hoo my guy is still there. Hey Saul i was somewhat worried about you taking him but you didnt thankfully. Actually i thought you were going to take Carlos Rogers of Auburn, so Roth is kind of a surprise.
With the 16th pick, the New Orleans Saints are very happy to select LB Kevin Burnett of Tennessee. Haslett was pissed when they lost DJ last year and they suffered with scrub OLBs in 2004. That weakness has been filled.

With the 17th pick of the 2005 draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Tight End Heath Miller out of the Univeristy of Virginia.
The Bengals will have tons of offensive weapons for Carson Palmer with Heath Miller, Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Peter Warrick, and Kelley Washington. The pick came at 6:37 Mountain Standard Time. Slap is now on the clock. |

JCM, Slappy is on the clock with the 18th pick. This draft is actually starting to go by at a pretty nice rate now.

With the 18th pick in the 2005 Orange Mane Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select OT Jammal Brown from Oklahoma.
![]() Tra Thomas and Jon Runyon are racking up the miles and there's precious little depth protecting the franchise. Need pick, but solid value at this spot. 7:45 Pacific Standard Time. Bosko and the Rams are now on the clock. |

With the 21st pick in the Orange Mane NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Carlos Rogers CB, Auburn.
The Jaguars now have a standout young corner tandem which includes Rashaun Mathis and the Jim Thorpe Award recipient. |

Okay -- Done!!!
Seattle trades it's 1st, 3rd, & 4th to Denver in return for Trevor Pryce, Terry Pierce, & Reuban Droughns. Seattle solves it's need for a "name" DL, a young MLB, and a replacement for Alexander at RB. Now, I am open to trades involving Alexander -- looking for a #2 |

Why does the term suck or swallow come to mind with the past few posts? How about picking so the rest of us watching the draft can enjoy it.

Just pick your freaking player and get it over with. You can't trade established players in this draft. Everything was going along pretty fast until your pick.
