i like the way TO plays. he may be cocky to some and arrogant. but i dont have a problem w/ him and he showed some heart playing only 7 weeks after that injury.

TO is fine in my book.

And a perfectly good bashing TO thread turns gets drug down into basketball. Isn't Lebron good enough to warrant his own let's re-hash all our same opinions thread?

Okay, well if not, let's throw Curt Schilling in there, too. What was everybody's reaction to the heroic bloody sock effort? (And don't try and tell me Schilling isn't a collosal azz, too.)

TO's comment has it's merit. Had it been Brett Farve who was playing in the same circumstances he would've been the biggest gamer of all time. But since it's TO he was just selfish.

Like or not, he's exactly right. And that's what people can't stand.

The Scene is the playoffs the year is 2001. The Raiders have previously beaten the Jets 38-24 in the playoffs ( This is a feat that the donks haven't been able to accomplish since 1998 ) The Raiders next task comes against the Patriots in foxborough in the snow. Walt Colemans crew is on the field when Tom Brady gets his arm chopped by Charles Woodson. The apparent force of the chop on the arm propels the ball forward and makes his arm go in the direction of his body. One smart referee on the field calls it a fumble which was recovered by Greg Biekert. The play is eventually overturned and Raider Fans as well as other football fans think that the Raiders got Jobbed thus the name of that Game in foxboro "The Snow Job" Raider Fans are heard saying... If, Maybe, Coulda.... & Donkey Fans are heard crying about winning a playoff game or making the playoffs if we have a pass rush and Kubiak doesn't go into a nintendo offense... empty backfield etc....

Fast Forward to 2002. The Raiders come into dungver and Rich Gannon torches the donkeys by passing on every down. The Raiders then torch the donkeys again in Oakland, advance to the playoffs and eventually the Superbowl while donkey fans hope and pray that they can just make the playoffs If.... They can just get a pass rush and If Kubiak just stops using the empty backfield set.... The Raiders lose in the SB saving the year for the poor donkey fans who still think that If they can get a pass rush & new offensive co-ordinator they might get close to winning a playoff game without John Elway.

The year is now 2003. Bill Callahan loses his mind and says the Raiders are the Dumbest team in America. Some Raider Fans are heard saying that they wish that John Gruden was back in town ( Not Me! ) The Raiders eventually fall to an atrocious 4-11 record and look forward to the draft and new coaching situation. Mean while In dungver its the first round of the playoffs an donkey fans again are heard saying if we can get a pass rush from Trevor Pryce, Ian Gold & Company we could win our first playoff game since 1998. Of course this also hinges on If Kubiak calls the correct plays ( Plays that shan-a-rat got credit for calling during wins btw ). Indianapolis hangs a 41-10 beating on the donks and the familiar cries of if, maybe, Coulda, Shoulda... Woulda surface again....

2004... Six years since the last playoff victory in dungver and 1 season removed from the Indy 41-10 debacle the donkeys get "A shut down corner" a clear reaction to the heavy ass whippin that Manning handed out. Proceed to make the playoffs while the Raiders improve morale 10 fold and their record by 1 game. Raider Fans are heard saying if we just had a decent running back and some direction on defense we could contend in 2005. Meanwhile in denver the donkeys are winning a meaningless game late in the season against the Colts who are resting their starters. Donk fans can be heard for the umpteenth time saying if we get a pass rush on Manning & If Kubiak calls a good game we should beat Indy.... Final Score Indy 49... Denver 24....

Lebron... I was wrong but, I'm not wrong about this... Lebron plays in a league that has an obvious void in overall talent. Care to debate it or would you rather Give props to T.O. for his game effort against the starting CB's of New England??
Thanks for stating the obvious about what happened to our teams, glad you can point out that we've been to the playoffs the past 2 years while the Raiders have improved from the 2nd overall pick to the 7th, Maybe this year, you guys can set your standards at getting the 12th pick.

I love how LeBron haters use the Eastern Conference as some sort of crutch, he's a great player and would be doing just as good in the West and you know it.

What TO should understand is that he's built that image of being a slefish, me first player, so any backlash about him trying to be selfish is warranted just as well. If he didn't want to be a selfish kind of guy, maybe he shouldnt have gotten in coordinators faces about getting the ball enough, maybe he shouldn't have continiously bashed Jeff Garcia about his arm strength and ability to get him the ball.

Funny how he complains about people calling him selfish, yet all he could do in the postgame press conference was talk about how he shocked the world with his play.

Rep for that, Tredici.

Curt Schilling is a terrific example of the double standard that exists. There's not a more self serving athlete in the world, but he's the ultimate gamer and TO is just an attention starved egomanic. The only difference between them is Schilling is (slightly) more subtle in his agenda. Luckily for him, most people are easily manipulated, if not outright stupid.

Good post! I'm haven't been a TO the person fan up until know but I'm sure he'll do something to take care of that in the near future.
What he did to come back and play with that injury was amazing!

Well since this thread has turned to other selfish athletes who don't seem to get criticized for it, I give you Brett Hull. He gets painted as "colorful" and "outspoken" when the truth is that he's a self-centered a-hole who cares little for the game he plays and less for the fans who pay to watch him.

A couple of classic Brett Hull quotes:

"I don't like hockey, I'm just good at it."

"I don't give a **** about the fans anymore."

But does he get rapped as a cancer? Of course not. Now if he were European, I promise you it'd be a different story.

Go to hell all of you TO hating morons.

If the guy played on your team you would more then thrilled to have him.

Face it, the guy is a freaking stud and if his performance Sunday night didn't show how tough he is and how much he wanted to win then nothing will.

So the guy is an ass on the field...who cares. With his ability I would be an ass too. The guy makes plays and plays hard.

Besides, what has he personally done to you...other then making your CB's look like 10 year olds? Has he had any off the field issues...and no having that hot chick jumping in your arms does not count as an issue. I would have caught her.

The guy is a stud that plays hard who has awesome talent...you are just jealous he isn't on your team. And this thread has gone 7 pages...good grief.

I should give neg rep to all you morons that hate him, but I don't have the freaking time.

And maybe he should get the ball more. What did Garcia do in Cleveland? Prove Owens wrong? Or did he whine, whine whine?

If Owens showed up as anything but himself in the post game press conferences everyone would be calling him a phony. The guy says he was taught when you have something to say, then say it. I don't like everything he says but I respect that he doesn't bow to public opinion of what he should say and how he should say it. If he didn't back up any of his talk, like, say, Freddie Mitchell (who it doesn't appear his QB will even look his way even if he's wide open to run from here to China) I'd be more inclined to dislike him.

For **** sake, ever thought about calming the hell down?

First, neg repping would probably make you like even more of an idiot, or maybe bluffing a neg rep is making you like a bigger one...either way you look pretty bad.

2nd, it's called an opinion, many people have different ones and they all are allowed to do so. It doesn't mean people are jealous, it doesnt mean they wish he were on the Broncos, it doesnt mean its because he makes people like you...I mean 10 year olds, it simply means that they do not like the way Terrell Owens goes about conducting himself on the field and that is that.

A guy that is a stud that plays hard, what a friggin concept. I'm sure there isn't any others in the league other than Terrell Owens that fits that category.

So calm down, start thinking rational, and realize that people are allowed to have a difference of opinion.

Hey, there's no better way of asking to want that ball more than to bash your QB and get right in face of your offensive coordinator yelling your ass off at him.

As for what Jeff Garcia did in Cleveland? Probably the same as most every QB would do right here in Cleveland, and thats not much.

I don't care if the guy had two broken legs, a strained neck, a couple of broken arms and a few dislocated fingers when he played....I still hate the guy and wouldn't want him on my team, no matter what.

Again, I agree. I was 100% on Garcia's side when he and Owens were in San Francisco, but that was before I saw Garcia knife his own head coach in the back last year. Its never cool for any player to criticize the scheme in the media, but for the quarterback to do it is just inexcusable. I also think that Garcia personally owed Butch Davis a lot more than that.

Nobody was beating down the door to sign Garcia last year. He's never been physically impressive and he's getting up there in age. Also, some guys seem a little uncomfortable about getting undressed around him in the lockerroom. Davis gave Garcia a shot to run his offense and then Garcia cried when Davis wouldn't retool the whole scheme to suit him.

Maybe the reason TO was bagging on Garcia in Frisco was because he saw a little too much crying out of the guy who's supposed to be the team leader.

Yeah I pointed out the obvious fact that you donk fans have been saying IF... Maybe... etc. Just like every other fanbase that doesn't win a Superbowl. Trying to bring up the "Snow Job" which happened eons ago is pretty lame

Yeah I noticed.

Yet for some reason DenFan feels the need to jump all over me when people were getting excited in the thread earlier. Screw that ****, he can kiss my ass.

Philly, Hogan, and others were going off about how they hated TO and I voiced my opinion...yet he tells me off. Go figure.

If it was jsut celebrating on the field, then yeah I don't get why people call him a jerk. But screaming at offensive coordinators, acting like a selfish ass in press conferences, rippng his QB in SF and going as far as saying he is gay..it's not so much a class act when you factor everything in.

Never said you couldn't have an opinion, nor did I ever call his supporters names.....until those not enamored with TO were labelled "Morons" across the board.......when that happens, then you get what you give.
