Look at the number 18 for example...each time you play, the symbol next to it changes. It's a trick based on the limited variables of the math. Using two digit numbers there are a limited number of results - 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 (I think that's all of them). The symbols next to these numbers are always the same, so no matter which of the above numbers you come up with, the symbol will match. Sideburn's right, it is simple math.
