actually weare watching that Closely , We are having alot of earthquakes from there , Then we had the Glarcier melt , unleashed a lake no one knew was there , about 130 Miles south of Yellowstone , and alot of parts of Yellowstone are closed cause the ground temp is too hot .......
it is about 60 thousand years over due for an eruption , but when that Bastard does go , Life west of the Mississippi will suck ...... From what I understand is when this sucker does go it will change the climate .......
Quote:
Tambora's eruption was the largest and deadliest volcanic event in recorded history. How does it compare with the Yellowstone caldera eruptions? If we reduce all the ash from Tambora to dense rock equivalents and include all ash flow tuffs that formed at the same time, we come up with about 36 cubic miles of rock. Quite a bit compared with the destructive U.S. eruptions of Mount St. Helens in 1980 that produced about 1/4 cubic mile.

Both of these shrink to insignificance when compared with Yellowstone. The volume of volcanic rock produced by the first Yellowstone caldera eruption was about 600 cubic miles—about 17 times more than Tambora, and 2,400 times as much as Mount St. Helen's, an almost incomprehensible figure. One more statistic: Ash from Tambora drifted downwind more than 800 miles; Yellowstone ash is found in Ventura, California to the west and the Iowa to the east. It is likely the earth has seldom in its long history experienced caldera explosions on the scale of those that created Yellowstone

Thats gonna suck. Really sounds like nobody would be very safe. More of a question of do you want to go first or not. Kind of like world war 3. I would try and catch one of Russias missles like it was a football. Better to get blown up then die of starvation or radiation.

anything within 600 miles will probably die?...If you drew a circle that was 1200 miles in diameter with the center being Yellowstone (600 mile radius) that would roughly include all of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, most of Arizona and New mexico, a large part of California and the panhandle of Oklahoma and part s of southern Canada.

Anybody interested in joining Hotrods new $ making adventure. We should convince everyone that bad boys about to blow then sell them insurance. If it blows in our lifetime were in abit of a pickle but chances are good it will be our kids or grandkids problem after we leave the company to them. That will teach them to not pick up their rooms.
