Default Kansas vs Nova

in the second half of this game Kansas is getting their asses handed to them. Nova leads 70-40 with 8 minutes left.

Someone must have convinced them the game was in April.

This team REALLY reminds me of the '97 team that was so hyped and lost in the 2nd round of the tourney.

Turnovers.

If KU keeps playing sloppy ball handling, you are right Nuggets, they will be out of the tourney early this year.

Oh boy was that a messy game for KU. Although I was raised to hate KU I actually started feeling sorry for them.

KU is the most overrated top 10 team in the country...... College Basketball's version of the '03 Chiefs. They've been flirting with dissaster for about two weeks now...... they had this thumping coming to them. That's what you get Adam for bashing the Heels!

GO HEELS!

its just one game Crush Girl and Alec. Virtually every team but for Illinois and maybe 1 or 2 others have lost. Regroup and get ready for the next opponent.

Duke is the second most overrated top 10 team in the country..... who exactly have they beaten so far?

Wait until they get into Feb.'s schedule. 6 of 10 games are against top tier teams. GT, UNC, and WF are all capable of giving the Dookies conference losses. Duke ends up with the #3 seed in the ACC going into the tourney..... could be #4 if the Jackets bring their A-Game.

I will say that J.J. and Daniel Ewing are both studs! I had plenty of exposure to Ewing when he and T.J. shared the backcourt in HS here in Houston.

A lot of people around here saw the loss coming as they had been playing good enough just to get by. I don't think we all expected them to get man handled like they did. You could see Self didn't know what to do durring the game.

I hadn't watched Nova before that game. I know they came with in 1 of BC. Is Nova really this good? Or KU playing this bad?

KU played that bad, but Nova isnt shabby. Curtis Sumpter is one of the better unknown players in the country and 3 of their 4 losses have been by 4 pts or less. so that was a darn good team KU lost to.

and this team is good, but nowhere as good as the 97 KU team. that team wasnt overrated, they ran into a fast Zona team that gave them fits. i was at that game down in BHam, AL. i will never forget the stunned look on the jayhawk fans. that was their year to win.

and i know the big east isnt the best conference in basketball, but people sleep on the big east. i'm a uconn fan so i'm a big beleiver in our conference. and remember, who has the won the past two national championships, teams from the big east.

so dont sleep on them come march.

Pitt and Uconn was a good game last night minus the final 45 seconds. UConn should be alright by tourney time and Pitt is playing like a top 15 team.

The way KU was playing they would have lost no matter who was in the lineup, but Self did seem to be trying to teach a lesson. Several times when starters made turnovers he pulled them. Because it was non-conference I think once Self saw where this game was headed he tried to show he would no longer accept dumb mistakes, and benched people as a result. He hadn't been happy with the way they won the past few games.

I've read a couple articles by people saying they think this is the boost KU needs, but I don't see how getting demolished when you were already playing poorly will help. Some more tough tests coming up. Hopefully they will respond.

Definately not the best, but I'll always side that they're one of the top BASKETBALL conferences. Any one of those teams could go on a run. Don't forget Syracuse. I saw McNamera last year single handedly carry Syracuse in the first round of the tourney in one of the most impressive games I've ever seen.

BTW, as a UConn fan, what are your thoughts on Villanueva? Think he can get his act together and dominate?

Who has UNC beaten?

KU did beat Georgia Tech and Kentucky this year and neither of those two teams are cakewalk teams.

And contrary to what DenFan has stated, I never once said KU was the best team in all the land. I just knew UNC WASNT the best team. Currently, Id say Illinois is easily the best team in college hoops.

Illinois is playing like the best TEAM, that's for sure. I'm just not sure they ahve the star player that you have to have to carry a team during a hard game in the tourney.

A) We dont pay our recruits
B) Nova stresses education, not athletics

Tough to compet if you don't cheat!

I was ecstatic to see KU lose, but it would have been sweeter if MY Wildcats (Kansas State) had won...

UNC has also defeated GT and KU, along with a trouncing of Maryland.

And yes, Illinois is the best team in college hoops, with Wake and UNC right behind them.
