With all the details you provided Bart I don't understand why I can't figure this out.

What player are you trying to play the .avi with? What's the error message?
Have you tried more than one .avi?

EDIT: You don't live anywhere near the KC area do You?
There is a known issue with anything working correctly in that part of the country.

You need to include your OS and which app you normally use for playing such files, as well as any installs/removes you may have made lately. Then someone might be able to help.

There's no error message, just a black screen where the video playback should be...yes I've tried multiple AVI files...

Try playing an avi with Real Player or any other different player. If you can then you might check here http://www.wmplugins.com/ItemList.aspx?typeid=8 to see if you need something for WMP.

You should watch the game from week 1 instead of week 15.

Click HELP | ABOUT in MS Media player - what version?
What type of video card do you have? Does your video player play the SOUND?

No, the video won't start at all. Other kinds of videos work fine.

Version is 6.4.09.11.28

Hmmm...

If it is multiple players that I would think it is a divx/direct x problem.

If I were you, I'd install the latest version of the Media Player (I am running 10). I can't say that will solve your problem (since you can't pin it to the app itself).

The divx website says they have some issues with some video cards and their configs, but it has worked before...

Right, it's been working for months with the same hardware.

My trial version of Divx Pro did recently expire...but I uninstalled it and installed free Divx...that might be related.

It's probably a codec.

Maybe you should download the DivX player - I'll bet that will play it.

Did your check your codecs like I said (what's installed on your PC)?

http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourc...ec_1.1.0.4.exe

Might try uninstalling all divx codecs and reinstalling.
And then install this pack.......
