Default Haliburton Given Contract to Rebuild Areas hit by Tsunami

Gotcha!

Now this was a joke...but tell me LABF and the rest of you liberals...what would you be saying if it were true? Would you be claiming that Bush caused the tsunami, like you claimed he invaded Iraq, destroyed the WTC, and the Pentagon?

Um, are you saying he didn't invade Iraq?

Ooops - I forgot: (Let me remove those pesky reality goggles for a second here.) In BushWorld, we were invited into Iraq (whereupon we were greeted with flowers.) We proceded to locate the WMD (just where Rummy and Dick said they would be) and everything has been hunky dory since.

Mission accomplished!

Did OrangeMane hand out DOPE OF THE YEAR 2004 yet?

I'd hate to say it but this vote might be more important than the Nov. 2nd election...I'd like to vouch for errand, if not!

I knew that you two clowns would bite....Haliburton is one of your pop up words, like a red flag to the numbskull bull.

LABF - I apologize....I accidently left off "for their oil", but you could substitute "to make Haliburton rich" if it makes you feel good.

As for MissesSynistr, your response is on par with George Costanza's "Well, the jerk store called....they're all out of you." Weak at best.

Halliburton/State Department Rape Stories Get Worse and Worse

by David Swanson

I just interviewed Tracy Barker for an hour. You can find the clip here.

She is one in a string of sexual assault and harrassment victims who suffered what they did while employed by Halliburton in Iraq. Her particular story is the worst I've heard and far worse than I had thought before conducting the interview. She was initially harassed sexually in the Green Zone in Baghdad. When she reported on her supervisor to a Halliburton ethics line, they simply told her supervisor.

When she transfered to Basra the environment was intensely worse and the sexual harassment constant. She attempted to report to Halliburton's human resources office in Kuwait but was caught and brought back.

She was assaulted by a State Department employee who attempted to rape her. She was then denied medical attention and locked up and cut off from outside communication. She was offered sleeping pills to help her anxiety, and then woke up with her supervisor naked on top of her.

No one in any of these cases has been prosecuted criminally. No one has been disciplined by the State Department or Halliburton.

The State Department offered Barker money (our money!) to drop a civil suit, which she refused.

Halliburton has forced a civil suit into arbitration.

A caller to the program asked why Congress doesn't do something. But how can Congress compel the Justice Department to do anything, while impeachment is off the table?

Too late - errant seems to have abandoned the sinking "USS Dubya" with the rest of the rats.

I was reading along thinking oh great here we go again. But I kept asking myself who is this errand? I finally got to LABF's post and realized I was reading stuff from 3 years ago.

Ha.

Nah, wasn't a bet though. It was when someone became ''GrieseNextMontana" (is that waffle?) and errand was in his phase that Frerotte was good enough to lead us to our promiseland. So I made up this name and did a mock sitdown interview with errand (this was the best thing I've written on here, anyone remember it). Anyways, I was too lazy to switch back, and 5 years later I don't even know who I was! It's always good fun when a couple times a year someone tells me to STFU because of my name.
