Kansas State is my team. I root for KU anytime they aren't playing KSU. I suppose your rationale makes sense, but I don't understand why anyone would root for Missourah.

Besides, I live in Kansas, always have. Did you live in Michigan? Anything other than a "yes" would be quite amusing.

I started rooting for them because my father is a KU guy. And I liked to pick on him and they grew on me. This was awhile back though before Highschool (10+ yrs).

Basketball team was a bit better under Norm.

Yeah..a bit. They were actually respectable. Quin has turned that program in to the laughing stock of the Big XII.

Gary Pinkel hasn't done much better.

Nope not really. When it comes to Missouri there just isn't much to brag about unfortunately.

So, what do you think A.R., can our boys handle the Aggies tonight?

I dont see the Aggies as a threat.

The only games I am concerned about are Texas, OSU and UK. The rest I think we can handle without problems.

The Tar Babies? Please, they lost to some unranked panty waste of a team and you think they are going to win the championship this year?

Besides, Roy Williams will get them all the way to the Final Four where he will make his prompt and usual exit.

The Tarheels have no shot.

We lost to Santa Clara to start the season without PG Raymond Felton. We're possibly the best team in the nation with him, very beatable without him. I thought you followed college basketball, apparently not.

Since Roy is a choker, certainly you guys won the tourney last year right? You didn't? Maybe it wasn't your scapegoat afterall...

No, we didnt win, because Roy left us in poor recruiting shape, thankfully Bill Self has righted that ship. Even with the piss poor depth we had last year we still made it to the Elite Eight and lost in an OT game to Georgia Tech who managed to go all the way to the championship game after beating soundly OSU who won the Big 12 last year.

Yeah, and we won against Georgia Tech WITHOUT our best player, so what? Great teams win without their stars, good teams choke in the season opener without their star.

I'll take a loss my losses in November, as long as we win 'em in march. I believe a certain star player from GT also went down in the KU game, but dont let that affect you're "we were a man down and still beat them."

Take notes from Bill Self's former teams fans, you dont see them complaining how he left them like KU fans do with Roy.

Bill Self was only with Illinois for 3 years, and Tulsa for 3 years. Not enough time to develop the sort of rep that Roy had. Roy was there from 89-2002.

Fact that I was going for, is both left their program in good hands, yet Illinois takes it fine while everything that happens to KU is Roys fault.

Roy left a really bad taste in everyone's mouth because of his near-departure 3 years earlier & his speech about how much his players, fans, KU meant to him...suddenly that went down the drain and he decided to leave.

On top of that, he tried to say after he left that the guys that he recruited should come to UNC with him, which didn't happen, of course, but just the thought was a total stab in the back.

Sure KU fans were upset...he had a long history with our school and people trusted him as a coach and a person. It's hard to let that go.

Self has proven himself as a good coach, and KU is moving on...Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

No one is blaming Roy for anything that happened now dumbass.

I blame Roy for everything that happened while he was here. Like ZERO championships buddy. HIS fault. HIS recruiting, HIS coaching, HIS fault. He is a classic choke job artist and I wish him nothing but more of the same with NC.

Bill Self on the other hand has done a fantastic job with what he had left to him when Roy left. And his recruited class shows a whole lot of potential to take right over after Langford and Miles and Simien are gone. I didnt like Self at the beginning of last year because I knew the team was gonna suck, but the thing is, they didn't really suck. They weren't as good as Roy's team the previous year with Collison and Hinrich at the helm, but they did manage to get to the Elite Eight with basically no bench AND took their loss to overtime against a clearly superior opponent. Self's style of coaching did that. Roy, with the same players as we had last year, would have been a first round bust in the Tourney.

You are more than welcome to Roy and all the heartbreak that comes with him though chief.

And tell me DenFan, if your best player is out and you still cant beat an unranked team, what chance do you think you have in the tournament? Sure Georgia Tech's best player was out but that team is not an unranked team without depth. They were ranked number 9 and their only other loss was to Gonzaga which has knocked off TWO #3 ranked teams.

Santa Clara? Are you kidding me? What kind of team cant beat Santa Clara? KU's freshmen could have beaten them and NC lost because they were down one man?

And you think NC is the best team in basketball?

UNC lost the opener not only b/c of Felton but b/c they had yet to gel..... lots of controversey @ UNC to start the season. McCants, though and awesome player, has a poor attitude. Fortunately he has turned it down a notch and is playing good ball and just as important being a good teammate. UNC is by far the most talented team in the nation. Felton, Mays, and McCants are all NBA first rounders. Not quite in the Jamison, Stackhouse, and Carter class but close..... in fact McCants is as good as any of them at this point.

As for Kansas..... O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D!!!!!!!!!

Seriously now, KU has a good team. Lots of depth contributing which can be a good thing, but you have to wonder if they can keep it up all season. The thing KU has going for them is an easier schedule. True UT and OSU are strong teams, they are not like Duke, Wake, Maryland, GT, and NC St. So you have a good chance of walking into the tourney with a #1 seed, but don't be suprised to see a team from the strongest basketball conference bounce your boys early.

College Hoops Not So Bold Prediction:

After Wisconsin beats up IU in their next game, Mike Davis will get fired in-season if a really bad Purdue team can muster up a win against him on the 15th.

What a disaster that guy has made of a once proud basketball power.

I personally didn't want Vermiel, uh I mean Roy Williams, but that was the hand that was dealt to us. If he does not win a championship this year, with the team he has, then he never will. As for the Santa Clara loss, we can't blame that on the absence on Felton, our 2nd five should be able to beat Santa Clara, but upsets happen, see OK ST, Pittsburgh, Gonzaga beats 2 great teams and then loses to Missouri, thats college bball. UNC has the best team in the country hands down, no one can argue that fact. They should win it all, and I think they will, and then Roy Williams can cry all he wants. ROCK CHALK OVERRATED- You guys will lose to NOVA in a couple of weeks!!!

Your guy Dean Smith had the most talented team in the country on many occassions and managed to not win a title in all but one of them. I'm not a Roy Williams fan by any stretch but a lot of good coaches have fallen on their ass with the best team many times before.
