Patience is the key, Shack... her body's going through a lot of changes and it sometimes feels overwhelming... plus, some women are pretty much sick and nauseated throughout the nine months. Hopefully this won't be the case for her, but a patient, supportive husband is worth his weight in gold for any expectant mom. (ie.: the proper response till at least June is always "yes, dear"... )

Congratulations to you and Mrs. Shack!

Apparently I missed this thread.

Congrats Shack. You better learn to control those outbursts at Bronco games or your wife will kill you when you wake up the kid

WOW! Congrats, Shack!

I thought you already had kids? Just shows you what happens when I start thinking, huh?

Here's to a healthy pregnancy, quick and easy labor ( though there is no such thing, but don't tell her that ) and a healthy, beautiful baby.

Catch up on your sleep now!

I identify with this so well because I did the very same thing every time. You'd think that after you experience childbirth for the first time, you would take every step in the world not to experience that pain again. But God has blessed us with very short memories as to the actual extent of the pain, and I do mean blessed. I'm pretty sure if he hadn't there would be a lot of people with 1 kid.

And holy smokes, hotrod......hour 21 of 25!!! I tried quitting at like 1 1/2 of 3 on one. She's a trooper!

When my child was born...it literally changed my life for ever, from that moment forth.

There is nothing quite as profound as watching the child that you created, being birthed and taking it's first breath in this world.

Wishing you all the best, MHS. Seriously.

How's the wife doing, Shack? All is well I hope? I bet she is showing by now. Give us an update on how things are going.

Btw, are you going to find out the sex beforehand?

oh thanks, I didn't see this

she is doing ok, the first few months were brutal (well not really, they were mild compared to a lot of pregnancys I have heard, but that is whole different issue) she is no longer having morning sickness and she is going along pretty normally now I think. The only problem is a problem that isn't related to pregnancy I don't think...she hurt her jaw somehow...anyway.

She is "kinda" showing, I think she's gained 8-10 lbs in 4 1/2 months.....something like that. She lost a whole lot of weight 2 1/2 years b4 she got prego so she is wearing her "fat" clothes still, but probably in a month or 2 she'll have to get maternity wear. She can't wear her jeans obviously..lol...she thinks she has felt the kid move a few times

yep...feb 10th we are going to find out the sex...she doesn't drink caffiene, so she plans on drinking a Dr. Pepper b4 the sonogram so the kid will be active and move so we can see if it has a thingy or not..lol

anyway...thanks for asking

Glad to hear she is over the morning sickness. I never experienced it myself, but from what I've heard, it's a b****.

That sounds about right for feeling the first movements of the baby. Neatest thing in the world to feel something move inside you for the first time, and every time after for that matter.

So do you have a preference as to what you want? Tell her to have fun with that ultrasound. They make you drink a ton of water so you have a full bladder, so it pushes the baby up more. Then they push around with the stupid wand until you are sure that there is going to be a puddle on the table when they're done.

Hope everything keeps going smoothly for all of you. Good luck!

well she already had one ultrasound, but it wasn't on the tummy if you catch my drift MT, so she had to do that water wise and she almost died...lol, I didn't mean to laugh, but she was in pain from having to urinate, not that I enjoy pain, but...you get my point laughing at your spouse

anyway, you know the cliche "I just want a healthy kid" I guess you never know how much you mean that until you are going to have one. I think that is the biggest fear that anything is wrong with the kid

other than that I want a boy she wants a girl lol

I never had to have one of the "other" kinds of ultrasounds, the regular ones are uncomfortable enough without that going on! Oh heck yeah, I had lots of my family in there with my at the ultrasounds, and they were all in hysterics over my agony in having to pee. a-holes.

I never used the cliche that way. I had definite answers and followed it up with that. I know I'll be dying to hear what you guys are having, so if you'd like, I'm sure we'd all like to know. Some people are odd about that kind of stuff. They like to keep it to themselves.

Try for the 28th or 29th

28th is Elways B-day
29th is mine

I turned out all right, well sort of, I mean better than most, I think.

You are going to have a Cancer, get ready for an emotional child!

shotgun...hillarious.

I was a junior in high school and just got back from a hunting trip and was cleaning my 12 gauge. My younger sister apparently had a date that I didn't know about. I was by the front door cleaning my gun when the door bell rang. For some reason I didn't put the gun down and carried it the door. There is this nerd in front of me with a rose. He looks at me and says he's here to take my sister out. Now I was/am 6'5" and weigh about 260-270 (more muscle then) and this guy is about 5'7" and about 150 if that. I grin at the guy and just tap my 12 gauge and said "are you sure". He gets scared and starts to back away. I'm laughing my ass off inside but I'm trying my best to look like I'm about to kick his ass. My sister comes down the stairs and sees me at the door and asks who it is. He hears her voice and voices his pleasure to hear her by having his voice crack saying his name. My sister comes over and sees me with my 12 gauge and her date looking like death. She starts yelling at me and says to her date lets go. As they leave I tell him I want her back by 11 and he so much as touches her he is going to die.

They got back 1/2 an hour later. The guy was so scared to say or do anything that my sister got pissed and just wanted to forget about it.

The next Monday at school my sister is walking down the hall and she hears some of my fellow football buddies and some other guys saying, "Hey that is Jack's sister, she's off limits." She is still pissed off about that.
