A "friend" of mine got ahold of the leaked Euro version. Even in French, it's all good. If you can't wait until it comes out in the US my "friend" can probably tell you where to pick it up. I'm going to buy it anyways when it's released for the online play, but sneaking a peek is always fun.

Word, Halo 2 will "pwn" everything. I wonder if I can still do one of those reserve deals to make sure I can get a copy when it comes out.

Oh man, x-box live rules so much. I used to have it in the dorms, but I still don't have it at my house, because I have wireless internet, and I need to buy expensive additional hardware to use it, but I may end up getting it when Halo2 comes around. I still want to play ESPN NFL 2K5 and Tiger Woods 2005 on XBL too.

Half-life 2 just went Gold... I think for me, this is the most anticipated title. Such a great time to be a gamer

I say that, but I was giddy waiting for Diablo 2 to come out and when the Expansion Pack was due, I could barely contain myself. We shall see come November 8th how I feel.

I just don't care anymore. Valve has ruined what great anticipation I had for this game. It's taken 6 long ass years to come out with HL2...I'm tired of waiting and all the delays have pissed me off to no end...now with that said, I will be buying it!

Delays? Hell they only announced the game last May bro... Doom 3 was a 2 1/2 year wait and we are still waiting for the vapourware in Duke Nukem after 9 years...

To say nothing of Starcraft2 either....

Pssh, I've expected HL2 since the original. That was 6 years ago. They started developing the game in 01. Thats 3 years worth of development. HL2 was originally slated to release last October, that was a year ago. Then it was suppose to be April 04' but that was pushed back because the source code was leaked. Now it's finally gone gold after Valve and (I can't remember the product rights company name) settled their little tiff over product shipment. Really what I'm trying to get at is that I hate Valve, I hate the Steam platform, and Valve needs to learn how to not say **** until they finish a game. They've spoiled the anticipation for me with all there little ads that I get from the Steam program...I guess you have to use it to really know what I'm talking about.

Ah but the key word is... Announced... Everyone knew they were developing the engine for it but no one knew of a release date...

Fear not brother, soon your steam account will be fragging away with some serious CS

wow, you're fast. Yeah, I still hate Valve...Valve should die. Hell, it wasn't even Valve that put CS on the map. It was someone like you or I that thought they had a good idea for a mod. They were right. In other news, next year I'm going to be attending a game design school. Can't decide on which one to go to yet. I've narrowed it down to Collins College in AZ and one at SMU. Ultimate goal is to get my own production company in about 10 years. I've played games all my life...I know what the people want...muahahahahahahaaa

Blizzard does that sh*t all the time, pushing back release dates and Pez, dont get me started on Starcraft 2.

Did Starcraft: Ghost ever come out on the Box? It was supposed to, I never even heard if it did (and I havent seen it so Im assuming it hasnt).

NO... Ghost is still on the shelf. Rumor still has it as releasing in 2006 with the X-box2 but they are still having issues with which style of graphics to use with it... Blizzard has also been hit very hard with turnover lately and some of their best programmers have broken off onto a new gaming company.

Plus, Blizzard North is still trying to figure out how to remarked Warcraft RPG's again... I bet we dont see anything Starcraft related for another 4 years bro... I haven't seen any of my contacts over there in a few weeks so, I can't even get the latest news from them about why Ghost is toast again. But, as soon as I can sneak over there on a break, I'll find out more and see if their NDA is still active...

As for Halo, I feel bad that it leaked to the Euros already.. It was all over Emule this weekend already too. It will still kick ass regardless...

Default Halo 2 Pre order 1.5 million

REDMOND, Wash. — Oct. 19, 2004 — There hasn’t been this much anticipation for an otherworldly touchdown since Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon. With three weeks to go before the game hits store shelves, pre-orders for “Halo 2” – the highly anticipated Xbox exclusive from Microsoft Game Studios – have eclipsed the 1.5 million mark in the United States. With phenomenal record-breaking video game pre-orders, “Halo 2” is poised to generate more revenue in 24 hours than day one sales of any full feature movie in entertainment history, including “Spider-man 2,” “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and “Matrix: Reloaded.”

In the U.S., the anticipation builds to a fever pitch on Nov. 9 when thousands of shoppers line up to be among the first to get their hands on the action-packed thriller.

The first copy of “Halo 2” will be distributed at a Midnight Madness event at the largest Toys “R” Us in the world located in Times Square, New York. Toys “R” Us Times Square will open its doors at 12 midnight on November 9, and deliver the first retail copy of the game to a lucky fan.

“The original ‘Halo’ is still a top ten title three years after it hit shelves, and the buzz for the sequel is off the charts,” said John Barbour, president, Toys “R” Us, U.S. “We can think of no more appropriate place to unveil ‘Halo 2’ than the site Xbox first launched–Toys “R” Us Times Square.”

More than 6,500 U.S. participating retailers*- including Gamestop, EB Games, Best Buy, Gamecrazy, Game Rush, Circuit City, Kmart Super Center stores and FYE, will open their doors at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9 to allow for sales of “Halo 2,” Xbox consoles and Xbox Live™ Starter Kits.

The global launch of “Halo 2” will also be marked by celebrations from November 9 through November 11 at more than 1,125 retail stores in cities around the world including London, Seoul, Toronto and Sydney. “Halo 2” will be translated into seven languages (Japanese, Korean, traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, German and Italian) and will be distributed in 27 countries.

“‘Halo 2’ is expected to be the biggest 24 hours for a video game title in retail history and is projected to bring in more revenue than any day one box office blockbuster movie in the United States,” said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide publishing and marketing for Xbox. “We call it the Halo 2 effect. We’ve even heard rumors of fan anticipation of the ‘Halo 2 flu’ on November 9.”

“Halo 2,” the follow up to the marquee Xbox title, “Halo: Combat Evolved,” was selected for the Toys “R” Us Joy List as one of the expected top sellers this holiday season. “Halo 2” utilizes Xbox Live to redefine online play, delivering superior online multiplayer capabilities, which allow gamers to engage with or against friends from around the world in an effort to save humankind.

Developed exclusively for Xbox by Bungie Studios, part of Microsoft Game Studios, the original “Halo” has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and spawned a legion of powerful devotees who participate in competitions, tournaments and game nights.
