Here we are five weeks into FFL and it seems every week in our league, people are b****ing about the rules.
I am co-commish in the free samples league, and this really bothers me considering I helped set up the rules, taking a little bit from some other leagues I had been in the past, and adjust rules I didn't like from the past. Now we play for a big cash pot. So maybe this is the root of all the squabbles, no one wants to get screwed. Here is the situation: Antonio Gates was traded from team A, to team B, for Donte Stallworth , mid week last week. After last weeks games were played, the teams in question reversed the trade. Gates going back to team A and Stallworth back to team B. Once questioned, team B admitted that he had Tony Gonzales, on a BYE week, so he pre-arranged the trade with team A, promising to trade the TE back to his original team after the week was over. There are no rules against this type of trade, and the whole league now seems to be up in arms, was this a bad trade? was it cheating? should either team be penalized? |

In this type of situation, as co-commish, you need to make it clear to both parties that this is abuse of the situation for a one week trade and that it is at your discresion (sp) to accept any further trades from both parties.
One thing you need to be clear in your league constitution is that type of issue. If you ask me, both teams would need to put it to a league vote or better yet, petition the co-commishes for their advice beforehand. Not after. Doing so without permission abuses the league and I could see how it would upset other owners. Personally, I would not regrant the trade again...

Tough situation, in my opinion, there are TWO teams involved, it should be up to them whom and how they trade, my solution will be to propose a three week grace period where once a player is traded, he cannot return to the original team for three weeks. We do have a trade deadline, so trades between playoff and non-playoff teams would be a non issue.
thanks for your input pez. |

We had a problem in one league this year with a team who abused the add-drop grace period for players. He was picking up a player that he knew his rival was going to pick up and then would drop them right before the weekly blackout period so that the other owners could not grab them til the following week. That is why we had to implement a 3 free agent pickups per period rule in that league. Lots of people trying to scam and cheat in any way they can bro....

I dont know that is legal but sounds like something kerry would do. On a serious note I think there is nothing you can do to the teams in question but if sure lacks ethics IMO.

no player rentals or temporary trading. it just makes for stupid fantasy football activity. say a guy with two good QB's who's missing an RB for the week 'rents out' a QB for an RB for one week. this goes against fair play and violates the fair competition that makes fantasy football fun.
how about a rule that there are NO give-backs. once you trade a player to someone, you can't have him on your roster the rest of the year. it prevents the trade-back silliness, and also prevents 3-way trades to get around these restrictions. just my thoughts. player-rental doesn't make for a fair league. and it also leads to guys giving their 'friends' players in unfair trades when they're having a down-year. |

Does 52 points count for going off again?
Three games in which he has thrown for over 5 TD's. The guy is unreal. Because of this the Culpepper followers staged a revolt in the kingdom run by Bastard Sons of Jabba the Hut. Culpepper's followers easily disposed of the ruling elite and set up a new government and named their country "Culpepper and Others". |

In our league Philly started A Toomer (HELLO BYE WEEK) and will end up losing this week as well.
For supposedly being this fantasy god he sure is getting his ass kicked this year on our league. Wonder if everything is okay or not with him after his rib injury? |
