Default The WaterMock-DenFan38 Bowl: Ohio State @ Iowa gamethread

2 years ago was when the controversy sparked up between Denfan38(Ohio State Buckeyes fan) and WaterMock(Iowa Hawkeyes fan.)

Big 10 teams play 8 conference games a year, and being that each team has 10 opponents, 2 teams are not played as thy have a rotation to go by. 2 years ago OSU and Iowa did not play each other, and what happened was both teams went undefeated in the Big 10.

Ohio State and their undefeated season got to play Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, while Iowa, who took an early loss to Iowa State as their only blemish on the year, got to play USC in the Rose Bowl(or was it orange Bowl?)

DenFan38 and Watermock have been going at it since with the potential match-up of OSU vs. Iowa playing each other, and haven't let the fuel on the fire burn out.

Last year only heated things up, as they got to play against each other, but with a lot less on the line. Ohio State prevailed 19-10 in a game that featured a combined 2 TD's, a punt return by Michael Jenkins and a fake FG TD by Nate Kaeding.

Now it's payback time for the Hawkeyes, or time to show that they'r just better again for the Buckeyes. Either way, this thread must be started earlier in the week to be sure to get both denFan38's and WaterMocks opinions, analysis, and hopefully some trash talking in before kick off.

Outside viewers feel free to chime in as well, for those who have been around for a year or so in this college football forum, you know how these two have been going at it about their teams.

Popcorn is piping hot and i got a nice beverage here...now i am all set. I have been waiting for you two to go after each other's throats over this game. Let's get it on. Now Iowa hasnt been that good this year and O$U has actually lost close games (believe it or not) but it should be a good game.
Go Iowa!!!

I'm trying hard to have confidence in this game, but I just cant. As long as Tressel keeps Zwick on that field, we have a good shot at being 3-3.

Watch out for a WR's, if hell freezes over and Zwick consistently gets them the ball, then it's lights out for Iowa. We can take a lot from the Michigan-Iowa game, what the Wolverines did is have the trio of WR's out there and have Braylone Edwards in thew slot, and Iowa would just refuse to go in anything but a 4-3 man cover, which left a LB on Edwards and they just got torched by him all game.

Please Iowa, put a LB on Santonio Holmes, we'll make it quick and painless for you.

Now Beezlebub is getting excited. Actually, he just went into his shoe box, which is expanding as he gets fatter. He's getting so fat I don't think he can house jump anymore. I am more concerned about his being able to fall off the bed.

I might have to get rid of the Ohio State bottle opener I just got.

Pretty cool thing, when you press on it to open up a bottle, it plays the OSU fight song and says 'GO BUCKS!" at the end, amuzing little thing.

As cool as it may sound, it was given to me the day before our Northwestern game, and OSU hasn't won a game since. 0-2 with a the bottle opener, time to find some new mojo.

i dont know, obviously 2 years ago Iowa was overrated as they got spanked by USC. but it seems a trend lately for Iowa to choke in the big games ( think KSU ) but at the same time OSU is probably just a average team this year so if Iowa is to beat them now would be the time. pick: OSU

Well, I suppose it could be worse in Columbus but I'm not really sure how. This week should show wether they can come out and play like cornered dogs or just flat out dogs. Course the good news is that as long as people are still cracking on us for having a sub Buckeye like year, it means that we haven't reached the depths of Nebraska as of yet. Should be a good game. Iowa certainly doesn't scare anybody but OSU sure as hell doesn't either. I'm wondering that with all the rumblings going on it the Columbus area if a road game isn't just what is needed. Zwick has got to get it together soon or he will be another Joe Pickens. Many are wondering where Smith is already. I remember Den Fan telling me when the presaeson rankings came out that the Bucks were ranked way to high but I didn't expect this. Well, every week a different challenge eh? Let's tee it up, get it on and we'll see.
Go Bucks

Both teams are a little down this year.

It's pretty odd to have Minnesota and Perdue the class of the Big 10.

The big matchup is Wisconsin/Perdue. Go Figure.

I concede our season, we're not gonna beat Michigan State, we're not going to beat Purdue, we may not even beat Michigan, a 6 win season is a pipe dream right now.

Thanks, Den. What's going on with Ohio St.? I can't get the game. I just saw the score on the ticker. I can't believe Ohio St. has given up that many points. Is Ohio St. that bad or Iowa that good?

Our offense just sucks, we cant run or pass the ball,a dn were giving up all these points because our D is on the field 40 minutes every hame due to our offense going 3 and out all the time.

Give an offense like Iowa 40 minutes to score points, and they're gonna rack em up, as they seem to be doing now.

Zwick cant hit an open receiver, we can't run the ball to open up any passing game, our ofense can't generate points nd we rely too much on the D and Mike Nugent to win us games.

Hell if I know, I know that before this, Tressel has never lost 2 straight as a Buckeyes coach, so the 2000 season at the very latest.

Possibly the dumbest reply...EVER.

If he can play QB, OL, and RB at the same time, then sounds good and we'll bring him back.

Oh that's right, we were bringing him back, until he decided to challenge the NFL ruling and declare himself eligible for the NFL Draft.
