Why did it have to be that piece of **** Jeff Kent?
Ah well, the Cards haven't lost a home game in this postseason. If they hold serve at home they'll be fine. |

Talk all the sh*t you want people, the Astros just swept the "best team in baseball" at home!
And for the record, the Cards havent lost at home this postseason but the Astros are the team that is going to send them home crying! BIATCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we go to the Series Slappy, I promise I will never talk sh*t about baseball again. |

Congrats Alec. That's gotta be great for that part of the country.
I loved the guy with the sign that said, "St. Louis - Now YOU have a problem!" |

Big talk, the Cubs sure thought they had it wrapped up last year and oops! Don't count on that trip to the Series until you've got that 4th win.
Of course if the Cardinals take the next two you'll just say that it's just baseball and you never really gave a **** anyway. |

Naw Clockwork. If St. Louis wins I wont care but not because I dont give a sh*t. Because God already gave me what I asked for the Astros, one playoff series win. Everything else, so far, has been gravy bud.
I will root for the Cards if they win. I told patsie I wouldnt but the Cards were my first favorite team when I was a kid (and The Wizard Ozzie Smith is still my favorite all time player). Its funny how this worked out for me too. See, I started off as a Cards and Royals fan because I was from Kansas and my family has roots in the midwest. KC and StL were the teams that were closest to us and I grew up watching them. We face StL in the playoffs this year, for a chance to go to the World Series. We are there at this point because Kansas City gave us Beltran. If Houston goes to the world series, and wins it, it will be because of my first two favorite teams that they did so. I believe. I didnt always have contempt for baseball and I have slowly but surely been drawn back since McGuire and Sosa went off on the homerun festival in what...1998? Each year I have watched more and more, started watching earlier and earlier. Because the All-Star game was here in Houston this year, I began from there, the earliest since the late 1980s for me. And I further promise not to rub it in IF Houston does win. Like I said, anything beyond beating those f***head Braves is just gravy. |

Obviously the game was too late for me here, I just woke up and checked the scores, awesome!
What a pitching line by both starters. Especially Backe, 1 hit through 8! You called it Alec. Maybe all the hitters decided to take the night off? Clemens up next... ![]() |

I'm glad Houston is doing this, because not many people gave them a snowballs chance in hell to win this series.
I knew it would be tough, the pitching match-ups were favorable for Houston with Rocket and Oswalt going in games 3 and 4 at home, I said Houston would win if they took 1 of the first 2 games. They didn't, so it's not guarantee they'll win because we're talking a win a Busch Stadium is needed, but you gotta like the chances with Clemens on the mound for game 7. |

That being sadi, I would like the Cards to go and win it all, I've always wanted the team who knocks my team out of the playoffs to win the championship, just makes losing a little better on my part.
I take that back, no way in hell did I want the Colts to win to it last year, or the Jaguards in 1996, but for the msot part, whoever beats my fave team, I want them to take it. |

I'm pulling like crazy for the sox tonight. i won't pretend to have as much invested in this series as a Boston native, but I was pretty nervous the last couple nights. Schilling has to overcome his ankle tonight and pitch the game of his life.
I would also like to see the Astros win. I like seeing Beltran have his chance to shine after years of watching him play here in KC. The cards and their "best fans in baseball" have to be shocked that they got shutout with their lineup. Both these series have been very entertaining. I hope the last few games live up to the previous ones. |

Yup. It all comes down to Schilling's new boot.
If he didn't get hurt, we're probably closing this out tonight. The big guy wants the ball so you gotta give it to him. |

im just amazed.
i thought the sox would win this thing in six before it started, and after the 3-0 yankees start i thought NO WAY it goes to seven. i still think a game seven boston win is highly unlikely (who pitches?), but who the hell knows anymore? what an amazing series. if boston pulls off the miracle, it'll be one of the greatest comebacks in SPORTS history. jake |

wakefield is the right move of course, but does anyone really think he'll get it done? ..and do lowe and arrojo have enough in the tank? i dont know. i WANT boston to pull it off, but it just seems SO improbable. i foresee a high scoring affair again, and the yanks have more firepower. jake |

Hats off to Schilling. 7 innings, 1 run, 4 hits, no walks. Brilliant performance.
Now the exhausted Sox bullpen has to try to finish the job. |
